There are a few more actually.... one guy works at a restaurant in Fairlane Town Center and another at Lear. Maybe we can all meet up on a warmer day at Prodrive? They are located in Dearborn too.

I'm going to try to get a little tour tossed together for us. But I'm thinking it might be more enjoyable when the weather warms up a bit. Then we can have a mini-meet and Prodrive tour! The thing is, I'm not sure they want their address advertised to the world. Might make it hard for them to get work done if people are always dropping by. But I'll call and see if they are interested. They've always been very friendly whenever I've talked to them.

What happened to Biaxin?

I was on my way home today when I saw a silver WRX sedan driving by my house (Outer Dr.). It looked stock except for a headlight mod and muffler. I tried catching up to the guy and flashed by brights a few times after he turned into the neighborhood behind my house. I was in a 2500 Duramax Diesel pickup truck (my "other ride" for work) and couldn't catch up. Looked like who ever it was thought I wanted to run him over! I swear I just wanted to look at the headlight mod because I took my headlight apart this weekend to remove the orange lens!

So... whoever that was.... I was just trying to say hi! :P

Just wanted to say hello to my fellow Detroiters. Since you are both in Dearborn do we all work for the same company? I don't think I need to bring their name up. Well, I have my money down on a new STi. Maybe we could all get together sometime since you don't see to many WRXs in these parts.

Kebler, that sounds real good. There are a few more Dearborn area "lurkers" I know of that havn't seen this thread or havn't posted, but a mini-meet sounds like a cool plan.

I *did* work for the company you are talking about with the tall glass building on Michigan Ave. for a few years (worked my way up to the 8th floor woo hoo!) but left back in 2000. :)

Yeah sounds good to me. I am not sure when my STi will be coming in though. I am guessing June or July but who really knows. I am surprised anyone picked up on Prodrive in DB. Not too many people know about it. How did you find out? I worked with them over there for a bit. I would tell you more about it but I think they want to keep a low profile. It is not really a customer oriented shop like many people on here would like to believe. It was definitely cool to see what goes on in there though.
How old are you guys? I am still new to the industry at 24.

Brad B.

Yeah, that's the one think I want to remind everyone - they are strickly an in-house operation. They are not part of the Prodrive USA that makes consumer gear which is located in another state. They can not work on customers cars nor can they sell parts. They don't even have a sign on their building, so they are certainly looking to keep a low profile.

I'm sure we have a bunch of people here that work for the auto industry. I started right after college and just left the feild this late Fall. I'm 27 now - seems to be the average age?

just thought that I would add my name to the list of people in the area. I am in West Bloomfield and work in Livonia. I don't remember what is in my profile, so: I have a (GC8) 2001 2.5 RS and it is basicly stock. but I also think that everyone around here should get together some time.

Hey guys... I have been around the "other" sites for a while, but just signed up for this one.

I NEVER knew Prodrive was in dearborn! Can you go buy products there?

I have a black WRX, my friend lives in Dearborn that I visit once in a while. I am from the Warren/Sterling Heights area.

PLEASE keep me updated, I would like to become more active in the local subie community.

Thanks,
Mike

TODAY MUSTA BEEN SUBIE DAY AS I SAW AT LEAST A DOZEN BLUE WRX'S AND A WHITE AND A SILVER. THE SILVER ONE HAD POWDER COATED SPOKES WITH A TOYOTA NAV SYSTEM IN IT. (sorry-did not mean to yell) Anyway they were all looking good. Was out by Suburban Subie Monday , they had two '04 Wrx's, no literature (according to "baldie").

Checked w/my man and I'm still number two waitin' to fly in my new STi !!!!

Keep shiftin'

Kebler,

Where do you have your deposite in for an STi? I have one in at Hodges, we'll see how many they get.

They have not been very forth coming with info? They really don't seem that excited about the STi? Maybe their not into cars.

Oh well.

Hey Brad, When's the Prodrive tour?

I have my deposit down at Dweyer and Sons. My buddy bought a WRX there and had a good experience. So far they have been great. They have kept in touch with me and presented material through mail. The latest info I received had a listing of all the standard equipment and options as well as expected dates. Right now they expect the first batch to arrive in June. I am 6th on the list so I may be a while but who knows how many young punks put cash down on a car they can't afford.

Kebler,

Sounds like your dealer is on top of things. Everytime I ask the guy at Hodges about new info he know's nothing?

I even called after the price was anounced and he said he didn't know about it? I would think if some guy was going to pay 33K for a car he'd try to keep me informed!

We'll have to hook up when we get our STi's!

I used to be around Dearborn last summer until I came back to East Lansing for school. Maybe you guys could stop by the Novi meet sometime? It's mostly NASIOC guys but all Scoobs are welcome and they are all cool for the most part. We have about 20-30 Subies at the meets, fun stuff. Every Tues at 7pm at B-Dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) in Novi at Fountain Walk or whatever it is near the mall. Maybe I'll see ya guys around eh?

BTW, someone mentioned a guy who worked at Lear? I have a contact there for a job but am about to grad from MSU, wondering if he's around if I could ask him about Lear and what they do, how he likes it, etc.

Hey EJ25STi, this may sound kind of cheesy and all but how can I go about getting into your club?

I have a black 2003 WRX. It is stock for now except OEM ground effects. I plan to put new wheels/tires and exhaust on soon.

Basically I am just looking for some local friends who are into cool cars (and from your website  yeaaaa you guys are!)

maybe kinda cheesy but a fellow gearhead and techno buff dj buddy and i were thinking about renting a pavilion and space on hines one saturday afternoon and getting a few dj's in the pavilion and having a bit of a picnic.

open to all gearheads who can dig or at least can tolerate techno and a chance for everyone to just park there rides , show them off and hang out.

feedback appreciated feel free to cross post other forums if you think its worth spreading the word.

Cheers,

Dave

Howdy,

I'm building a jig to make an up-pipe and down pipe and was wondering if anyone still has their stock parts and if I could bum them for about two weeks max.

It would be a huge favor. Send me an e-mail if your game I live in livonia. Its worth a couple drinks at least.

Thanks,

Dave
