Transfer Parts from 2.0 WRX to the STI?
Transfer Parts from 2.0 WRX to the STI?
Guys, I'm making a move from my tricked WRX to the STI. However, I wanted to know if I should take any of the following aftermarket parts from my WRX and instal it on the STI. Is the fitment the same or are the STI components better? Any feed back on if the transfer is do-able is greatly appreciated:
- VISHNU EMI Adaptor
- VISHNU Underdrive Pulley
- HKS FCD
- PDE UP Pipe
- PDE DOWN Pipe
- Cat Back Tanabe exhaust
- White Line Anti-Lift Kit
- SAMCO IC Hoses, or does the STI already have upgraded IC piping?
Thanks,
Larry AKA

uppipe, downpipe, cat back, anti lift kit and your fcd if you want to play around with the fuel but i would get engine management. your intercooler hose wont fit on the bigger intercooler.

The turboback is all you really need engine-wise. Suspension is the same as far as design, just different spring/strut rates and sway bar sizing.

I made the jump to the STi from the WRX and I sold everything other than the turbo back.
STI ECU is different than the WRX. So not sure the EMI adaptor will work.
I had ALK as well but I thought it was not worth the expense taking it out. IC hoses do not fit except for the one in the front. Up pipe on the STi is catless so not need to change it.
By the way the 04 ecu is different than the 05 ecu so no ECUTEC yet.
Regards
Nick

ALK won't fit without an extra spacer on each side of the subframe that costs $12 shipped from OZ.
I went from a Vishnu Stage 2 WRX to my STi and have been overjoyed, despite losing about 40 crank hp (the torque more than makes up for it
).

Nick
PS: are you transfering parts from stage 2?

Egan had one of the first Xedes and later had a reflash as well.

I had some issues with the Xede and eventually switched to the ECUtek reflash. By that time I was done with my mods. It wasn't until the untimeley death of 3rd gear that I decided to get the STi 6MT (with the rest of the STi wrapped around it
).
Many of my friends benefitted from the return to stock, but I did keep the following parts for the STi:
Stereo
V1
Hella Horns
GReddy gauges (Boost, EGT, OilP)
Gauge Pod
Duffguards Radiator Shroud
C&R Radiator & Samco Radiator Hoses (not sure if I'm going to keep these or sell them)
Everything else had to go: turbo, TBE, coilovers, swaybars, strutbars, injectors, fuel pump, fuel rails, TMIC, uppipe, Stoptech BBK, Prodrive GC-06D, Rota Subzeros, shift ****, lateral links, etc.

I found no need for a bigger TMIC on the STi. Unless you're running a much larger turbo (and supporting mods) and higher boost, there is really no point. You won't see much in the way of power gains with the TMIC alone. Save the $1,000 for suspension or exhaust goodies.

I am looking into a Green "look alike" done by Deadbolt with PE850 injectors.
But I would like to avoid the FMIC route that includes cutting stuff in the car.
