hey guys,,,,

Just wanna say hope this doesnt start a "whose shop is better war". But Ive been to Pruven and was not impressed at all. The 2 or 3 thimes that I was there, I was not even helped. It was like the people workin there could care less about gettin my business. Their big selling point is that they have an AWD dyno. But they charge u an arm and a leg to use the damn thing. I guess u have to be buddy buddy with them to get a halfway fair price. Also, when I 1st got my WRX a lil over a year ago, I went there to see what they would recommend I do. When I asked them for advice, the guy LITERALLY told me "I dunno, what do u want to do"? What an idiot answer that was coming from an employee of a performance shop. And then, I asked him what kind of parts they could get in for my car, he said just parts for the engine. He couldn't order a freakin exhaust for my car! Needless to say, I will never go there again. And the times I went, the place was filthy as hell.

I not goto XXtuning in Whethersfield. This place is clean, they have a SL of WRX parts in stock, and the guys now exactly what thet are doing. I have done about $5 G worth of business with them and I would never go anywhere else. The guys there no exactly what they are talking about. Also, u dont have to be buddy buddy with them to get good prices and service. And by the way, they do have the UTEC. So, if u want the work done right..... check them out... XXtuning.com Later

Ugly....

This is a Subaru forum, not a Honda forum. Everyone here is interested in Subarus, not Hondas. If u want to start a Civic meet, cool, goto the Honda forums. You will probly find alot of civic-lovers there. But, u will not find too many Civic lovers here. Subaru and Civics are too totally different cars like hot/cold, black/white, etc.... Also, whats the attitude for? Do u think us Subbie peopel should all "respect" civics? Come on now! I have friends with civics too except they are all girls, lol. They know u can't compare civics to WRXs or other subbies. Come on now!

Don't get all worked up over us not respecting civics. It's not fair to compare the too. And I guess if the comment about civics offended u that much, u really aren't a true Subbie fan. Maybe u should trade ur Subbie in and get 3 civics in return. I'm sure you'd be happy....

Bottom line: Just suck it up and come to the meet. It's gonna be fun. For once, we are getting together to have a good time and we just don't wanna be over taken by rice, thats all.

Wow, I really don't know what to say to your post.... wait, yes I do. It's that same pathetic elitist attitude that kills the subaru image. I have many friends with all different types of Honda's, VW's, Mitsu's that can and do clown any Subaru you throw at them. I respect all people that put effort into their cars as long as it's not just a wing and exaust tip

You talk like you drive a Ferrari.... you don't. I know people that do and they don't even say stuff like that. I'm not getting worked up at all, I just don't want to be assosiated with anyone/group where there is such a closeminded outlook. It's unfourtunate really.

" For once, we are getting together to have a good time " TonyB has thrown many an awesome meet already. It won't be the first or "for once".

Dude, simple as this...A couple of guys, along with myself, set up a date and time for us Subbie owners to have a good time and check out each others' rides. I have started a few other meets in the past myself and what has happened... turned into a freakin rice show. Just don't want that too happen. Is that soooo awful? If u wanna start ur own subbie/honda meet, go ahead, I honestly wish ya the best. But atleast for the 1st couple weeks, let's keep the integrity of what this meeting is all about...which is subaru, nothing else. Then maybe integrate some Euro-cars into it.

And I see ur very touchy so I won't say anything bad about Hondas, even tho alot of people, especially in these forums, hate them. Just remember, this is a Subaru forum, meant for Subaru owners, not Honda owners. Goto the Honda forums if that's what you are interested in.

P.S... You wrote.." For once, we are getting together to have a good time " TonyB has thrown many an awesome meet already. It won't be the first or "for once". Well, if u read earlier in this ost, it was mentioned by some people that CT people never do anything, etc etc...So, for once, cuz it has been a while since some kind of meet was established around here, that's all.

Dude, simple as this...A couple of guys, along with myself, set up a date and time for us Subbie owners to have a good time and check out each others' rides. If you want to have a Subaru exclusive meet, more power to you. I've never had a problem with that. My issue lies within your comment, not the meet. ... turned into a freakin rice show. Opinion, no? What is rice? An individuals tastes that differs from yours? If u wanna start ur own subbie/honda meet, go ahead, I honestly wish ya the best. I have no need to.And I see ur very touchy so I won't say anything bad about Hondas,... This is the second reference you’ve made about me getting ‘worked up’ or being ‘touchy’ about this subject. Yeah… um… I’m really just not....even tho alot of people, especially in these forums, hate them. You just said you weren’t going to say anything bad about Hondas. No? Just remember, this is a Subaru forum, meant for Subaru owners, not Honda owners. Goto the Honda forums if that's what you are interested in. I really like the condescending tone in which you write. Are you in management or a salesman? I know this boards purpose, and to whom it serves. And like you I have an opinion. You made a comment, I told you I didn’t like it. Point; counterpoint.

You brand a certain group of people as ricers and state that they are unwelcome. Then berate them because of their taste/style. Come on now. That makes you just as bad as the “ricers”. Then stating that they’re girls cars, yet overlooking that Subaru has the highest lesbian sales percentage. Hence girls cars for girls that are into girls.

I’m not touchy, irritated, upset, or anything like that, but it does annoy me when anyone looks down on people for certain behaviors and then act the way their calling other people out for.

Have a fun meet. There will be more and I’ll be at the ones when the attitude isn’t “ricers go home”

2 things:

First, how would one track the amount of Subarus lesbians buy? Can you imagine when you put down the deposit, "Ok Ms. Glasscock, your credit is fine, the registration is all set, we have the photo of you infront of the car, all the i's are dotted.... we only need to know one more thing - THe execs in marketing need to know - Are you a lesbian?"

Can you imagine?

Second, I have just an Outback Impreza, but am lookign to buy the STi this spring. Am I welcome to come to this meeting in Danbury to learn some stuff?

Tom Yeah... I'll go nuts, because i seem to have already gone nuts, huh? Right. Man... morons like you remind me why I really don't hang out a lot with the whole I-Club/ Nasioc groups. Really. I also remained quiet to let this BS subside. Then you come out with a comment like that and the Happy Hanukkah one. Are you dump... honestly? ( i mean you didn't even spell the word Hanukkah right and it has like 80 correct spellings) Or are you just looking for attention. Maybe you've just found an outlet (an internet forum for example) where people actually take notice of you and don't ignore your existence like in the real world. What ever the problem is, your a tool.

And about the lesbian facts. If you look on Nasioc there have been multiple discussions about how that’s the demographic that has bought into SOA. Ask the people on this board with a clue. For instance ( I don’t mean to bring their names into this discussion but they know their stuff and can verify) Like KC, ED and a host of others. Or you can just look at the quotes below...

"Subaru of America also started advertising to the gay community in 1995. But it's the only carmaker to use a dedicated agency-Moon City Productions, New York, founded in 1999 by John Nash, a partner in Subaru's original gay and lesbian shop, Mulryan/Nash. " from http://www.hrc.org/worknet/workalert/2002/0503/article02.asp

Or...
"Subaru adds lesbians to niche marketing drive" That’s the title of this report. http://www.adage.com/news.cms?newsId=30653

Where did i get the information..... It's called the internet, do a search. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=subaru+%2Blesbian&btnG=Google+Search

I’m not bashing lesbians so don't turn it around like you keep dwelling on the " Ugly's gone crazy", "Ugly's getting upset" junk. Just pointing out the flaw in your "Civics are girls cars" brain fart and answering Joe's question.

i have a lot of friends w/ Honda’s too, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to invite them to a SUBARU meet. People need to learn to read around here. I'll quote myself..."If you want to have a Subaru exclusive meet, more power to you. I've never had a problem with that. My issue lies within your comment, not the meet. "

I could care less if you have an " All Subaru" meet or a " All people who like to ride scooters wearing rain jackets" meet. It maters not to me. My argument was with his comment. The first Subaru meet I went to was in Norwalk earlier this year. Yes I said it was a Subaru meet because it was for Subaru's. Imagine that. And I asked prior if I could bring some friends that didn't drive Subaru's and everyone was more then welcoming to them and myself. They were happy to have those guys come. Not this implied " If you know anyone with something other than a Subaru tell them to stay home" attitude.

Cabal- thanks for posting some pics. Did you at least win that race?

uhhhh, i don't really know how to explain it, and don't wanna get crap from these guys for putting a "label" on it. But if i had to put a style to it, i guess it would be considered something like indie emo hardcore or something(not good with classification of music)...i don't really know...i know that some of their main influences include Quicksand, Into Another, Cro Mags, Agnostic Front, Madball, and a bunch of others...not really heavy, kinda of mellow but pretty good, plus i skateboard with them so that's enough reason in itself LOL. The show will probably be somewhat laid back in a bar with lots of drunken girls...

Tom... The Those two kids with the red se-r and the rx-7, live in my town, but all i remember is it was late at night, (12 or 1 in the morning) and the red se-r was in the right lane, and the rx-7 was in the left, and all of a sudden they pass us and you see a blue wrx on the se-r's ass, and you all where going about 85-90mph, and then it just disapeared going twords the mall, i was with a bunch of people from team civilized, and i think maybe some team kamikazi, but im deff goan go alot this summer, maybe ill see ya there...

ktd SC...

Well, it was later at night, I don't remember exactly what time but might have been around 11-12. I think I was comin back from the Brewster train station.

Andyscoob....

Well, they might have been ur "boys" I dunno. Maybe they weren't. It was a little while back and I always mess with cars on the highway, especially Hondas and other rice (oops, hope Ugly doesn't go nuts again; j/k Ugly). If that was them, then whatever "mad" stuff they are hookin up under their hoods isn't that great because I didn't even have my header and up-pipe on when I spanked them. But keep in mind, I do not know for sure if it was the kamikaze boys or not.... as far as pics go.... I do have some pics but it's Friday already, I'll show ya what I got done tomorrow bro....

quick question - I'm not really a car buff like most of you, but how difficult would it be to add automatic locks to my 96 impreza? Would it be a lot? Should I go to a non-dealer to save $$? Where would I get the parts?

I am asking in this thread because you are all relatively close to this area. Thanks!

are you bringing your 96? at least i won't be the only non-rex there...i couldn't get my new parts painted in time, oh well. My headers just returned too (had to send them back 'cause they cracked) but it's too nasty out to be bothered putting them back on...hell, i've been so lazy lately, i still have my summer tires on...

sorry guys, i can't make it. Hopefully next time, something important came up that i have to take care of. I can only make it if it's at around 12noon, and even then i'd only be able to stick around for about 15-20mins.

..and of course, I get stuck driving becasue I have the AWD Outback.

One of the downfalls of owning a Subie...

..If I do come i will be in my non-wrx vehicle.

i hope no one else is thinking second thaughts bout sunday. im really looking forward to it, even if the cars look like crap b/c of sand and salt. couldnt of picked a better time to snow, its gonna snow saturday too, but it should be gone before sunday.
tomct-
didnt mean anything by the kamikaze comments, just excited to see how much stuff u got under there. i cant wait to be modding myne, but i have to wait a little while. work isnt that busy lately and i work on flag hours (payed by the car), so if there's no cars, there's no money. so hopefully it will pick up soon, and i can get back in the game again. plus, maybe you can give me some pointers in the right direction :)

I left a little early, had to jump on i84 and sit in traffic. Lol. Anyway we had about 6 cars show up while I was there.

1 WRX Wagon (stock)
3 WRC Sedans (1 stock, and 2 done up)
1 2.5RS (Couple mods)
1 Legacy (not sure)

Not sure who else showed up after.

I would be down to do another meet in Danbury, or we could meet at another place. Either way I would be in.

i think we should do some kind a meet where we can all go eat somewhere, and discuss mods, and not have to stand outside in the freezing cold again. the meet was great, but it was way too cold, and i was expecting more people.
plus, the meet didnt last very long either.
i hope u guys enjoyed it, cause i sure did, and got a whole lotta ideas for my stock rex (w/ bov).
it was also nice to put faces to all these posts.

So I guess we won't be trading cars. Lol.

Someone post directions and I'll see what I can do. Gotta go out to Cali next week to work at the SuperBowl. I won't be around for a couple of weeks so I have to get my WRX fix before I leave.
