Im about to install my audio system as well as a computer system in my 2000 2.5RS.
Im using 2 McIntosh amps, one is 100x4 and the other 600x1. There running Infinity kappa components that some one else installed and a JL W7 10. Im going to need a power inverter for the computer and other electronics that will no doubt be going in. I have acuired a 7" widescreen VGA touchscreen for my input and display for the computer.
I think i am going to need a bigger alternator, have any of you had problems with this, mine is a 75 amp and with everthing on its pulling about 70 amps!
Anyother input would be cool also. Thanks

you should be fine. run some CAP's for you amps to give it that extra ummmfff.
I never seen a computer system in a car before...i just use my laptop and the power inverter.

70 amps intermintely?
your system is a little taxed, but may survive...
you'll know when you have a problem when you smoke your alternator...
Cap's aren't a fix, but an averaging device to help keep avalible power for the amps during peak demands...
At night in the rain in the cold I might not crank the system too much.
You'll smell it when you've gone too far & by then it is too late... some damage has been done.

got a good battery?
if you are dumping all this cash into your car, why not spend a little more and make sure the charging system is good

I think i will get a better battery, and i will be adding a cap or two. I think im gonna wait till its a problem to fix it,but i might hook up a voltage meter in the car so i can keep track of it to catch it before it leaves me out to dry. Thanks for the input! and any more would be helpful.

you can have you're alternator rewound by some auto places. Bassicly they put in more winding. I cant remember how much more power it put out when my friend had it done, but he said it gave it quite abit more capacity.

I looked at that a little bit, but the alternator seems to be wound tight, and hasn't much space around it. But I think I will go somewhere and check it out, just a little bit more should do it.
