View Full Version : What is your take on banner adds on i-Club Imprezer 06-09-2004, 06:34 PM Please let me know what you think. RupeDawgPSU 06-09-2004, 06:36 PM I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that goes into this site. I think banners would be fine - especially if they are Suby or car-related. But if you have stuff on here for wack, unrelated sites it would kinda suck.... Zee 06-10-2004, 02:09 AM I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that goes into this site. PyroManiac 06-11-2004, 01:01 PM as long as they dont like follow you down the page as you scroll, like some do, that'd be fine. Banners in general suck, but if it helps keep the site going i'm all for it. -Zoeb Rock Strongo 06-14-2004, 05:13 PM I wouldn't mind them. They're far less offensive than pop-ups. /\ esracer 06-15-2004, 07:45 AM don't mind them super_mut 06-18-2004, 09:09 PM No pop-ups at least ... yea I agree with RupeDawgPSU RoadSpike 06-21-2004, 02:46 PM as long as they dont like follow you down the page as you scroll, like some do, that'd be fine. I second that to the Nth degree. Java applet ads suck! Flat4Turbo 06-22-2004, 02:49 PM I like them because it gives you more product sites incase you dont know them. SilverScoober02 06-22-2004, 02:53 PM I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that goes into this site. I think banners would be fine - especially if they are Suby or car-related. But if you have stuff on here for wack, unrelated sites it would kinda suck.... What he said! :D WRX Rush 06-22-2004, 05:36 PM So pretty much what most of us want is -Car or Subaru related banners -None that crawl and follow down the page -No spank the monkey for money My addition. . . Keep them classy, no .50 cent pieces over a chicks nipples and then having it somehow relate to cars. . . WRX Rush Austin sykosis 06-23-2004, 07:06 PM It's understandable that a site need money to operate, so no problem whatsoever here. Just (like everyone else said) no pop-ups please! Vaca 06-27-2004, 06:57 PM As long as there are no pop-ups or those ones that strobe different colors, I'm fine with advertising on the site. Preferably the ads would be car related...but like mentioned above, as long as there are no zap the monkey for $10,000 it should be okay. Imprezer 06-27-2004, 10:01 PM Zap the money, hehe. I am just looking into possibilities intot doing i-Club as a full time job. And, of course, I will have bills to pay, haha. Just thinking... SpeedRevelation 06-29-2004, 05:38 PM Banner adds on i-club are ok with me as long as they are Subaru Impreza related. This is i-club afterall... I would hate to see another damn irrelevent ad while on the internet. STUPID SPAM! DIE! doughboy 06-29-2004, 05:41 PM as long as they dont like follow you down the page as you scroll, like some do, that'd be fine. banners are fine by me too. pyro's concern is valid -- those scrolling banners are the worst...as are the ones that expand to populate a portion of the screen. ish 06-29-2004, 05:53 PM i don't like the google ads but if they need to be there, put them under the quick reply box and forum jump thing actually it would be cool if the forum jump thing was above the quick reply box as well mattsn0w 06-29-2004, 09:14 PM please, please, please no B$ banners! Keep it real! SF miami WRX 07-01-2004, 11:17 AM I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that goes into this site. I think banners would be fine - especially if they are Suby or car-related. But if you have stuff on here for wack, unrelated sites it would kinda suck.... the same here. nypatrick 07-07-2004, 08:45 AM Subie/auto/racing related ads: OK, even welcome, to help support the site. Other have already said that, I know, but just wanted to add some support. gpatmac 10-01-2005, 11:46 PM Not a big fan of the link ads, neither, but I guess I'll get used to them. Whatever happened to selling @i-club.com email addresses? Wouldn't that net the same as the Vibrant Media stuff? RedStage 10-02-2005, 12:09 AM LIC Motorsports Flash banner has some problems. You know, the one where the 01 RS gets the WRX engine swap.... Severely slows down the page. I've brought this up before. Running a 867mhz Apple G4 with 1.25 gig of ram on a DSL connection and that banner, just freezes all my browsers. Safari, IE, Netscape, Firefox, you name it. I have two computers and they both experience the same phenomenon. spedmunki 12-02-2005, 01:34 AM as long as the banners are subaru-related..... and none of them are the ones that grow larger when you cursor goes over them...then they are fine binkiller 12-02-2005, 01:03 PM i don't like banners too much but if this is your last best option i agree with it GotBoost? 12-05-2005, 03:27 PM LIC Motorsports Flash banner has some problems. Just kidding.... seriously though....I never had any problems with that ad crashing my browsers (IE or Firefox) Back on topic.....as far as banner ads goes....I agree with what everyone else said thus far......but the one thing that drives me nutz is the stupid Intellitext links....OH MAN, those just chap my hyde....thank god for the "Adblock" plugin for Firefox. ;) -Ted WRX409 07-25-2006, 06:45 PM I honestly like the banner adds here. I just hope their will be no pop ups or shoot the monkey and win 10,000 dollars lol. |
