Just got my KYB AGXs Struts
OK guys. I just bought some KYB AGXs for my 96 impreza L. The car has 170,000 on it and I know it needs new struts but:
Are new springs necessary?
Will the AGXs wear out my old springs?
Any help or tips on doing this installation and answers to these problems would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You'll be fine running them on stock springs, however, think about this:
Stock springs have a certain stiffness. On an L, they are not stiff at all. Springs control a lot of your body roll. They also are about half the stiffness of your ride. Putting in AGX's will be a huge imporvement, however, i'd keep the settings on the soft side. Otherwise you'll easily over dampen those soft springs.
I would think about maybe finding some used 2.5 RS springs for cheap, that will be an imporvement over your L springs.

SO you wouldn't recommend running at settings 3 or 4 cause it will kill my springs?? Ok, well, I think that I will find some springs before I install these then.
Thanks,
