Where is the knock sensor?
Hey Guys,
My brother's 97 OBS 2.2l is throwing a knock sensor code. The car has 175k on it, so it's a good chance that it's due for replacement. So I want to replace it (82 bucks from local dealer). The only problem is that I can't seem to find it...
Auto Zone says it's on the driver's side rear upper block. Nothing there. Dealer says it's on the intake near the coil. Nothing there either...
There are two sensors on the block under the intake on the pass side. Is it one of those (probably, because they look impossible to get to!
).
I have a copy of the Factory Service manual coming to me in the mail, but I'd like to do this today if I could...
So can anyone point me in the right direction? Pics would be awesome, if you've got any!
