I like to think of my car as the anti-Honda. Therefore, I'm planning on dual tip SS Stromung exhaust and Borla headers. Anybody know of parts that are even less ricer than those?

View Full Version : Ok, a real tech thread since this forum ain't got one yet. Kevin M 11-22-2002, 10:33 PM I like to think of my car as the anti-Honda. Power should be used for good, not for evil. AKA use it to whoop on other people, not show off that you could make that sort of power but never do. The opposite of "All show and no go." I would've added another one but Webster's didn't have a definition for it. :p Kevin M 11-22-2002, 11:00 PM My bad- I meant specifically in lieu of the Stromung/Borla combo. I also left out the Cobb intake, but that won't be for quite some time, tires and suspension come before that. dRu888 11-22-2002, 11:15 PM i have a cobb, stromung,...and im selling my borlas. cobb is one of the more quiet intakes (i had a JCS shortram and that thing makes the cobb sound like nothing). stromung is a deep tone that doesnt sound ricey at all. and borlas add to the deepness... Kevin M 11-22-2002, 11:18 PM do yo have an old style coupe, and how much do you want for the Borlas? I have seen them as low as $295+tax including shipping lately. dRu888 11-22-2002, 11:22 PM yea, i have them on sale on nasuc brand new headers brand new subaru gaskets (paid 14) brand new hat 295+ plus u pay shipping or pick it all up. 4 people are in line ;) and yes i have a 01 RS Kevin M 11-22-2002, 11:24 PM Originally posted by dRu888 yea, i have them on sale on nasuc brand new headers brand new subaru gaskets (paid 14) brand new hat 295+ plus u pay shipping or pick it all up. 4 people are in line ;) and yes i have a 01 RS In line, but not sold? Why not? dRu888 11-22-2002, 11:32 PM i sent a price to the first guy after calculating the shipping, and ill give him a day, then ill send a quote to the next, etc etc Kevin M 11-22-2002, 11:35 PM Makes sense. Where do you live? dRu888 11-22-2002, 11:45 PM good o' sacramento ;) and im down south for college 4 now Kevin M 11-22-2002, 11:47 PM Cool. Borla headers are the bottom of the "food chain" for headers. they mimic the stock collectors. THe get rid of the funky bend in the stock collectors, and thats about it for performance. THey are not equal length, or have any 4-2-1 kind of set to be called a tuned exhaust. THey sound neat though. I would concider Borla headers rice, but alot of people don't know any better. For an effective header, buy a TWE header. www.techworkseng.com I wouldn't recomend a Brullen. I was really excited about it until they dropped the ball and screwed up the collector. It costs more as well. SYMS headers are also very nice, but they cost alot. I bought mine early on when there was nothing else available that was a "real" header. cheeRS, Greg Kevin M 11-24-2002, 06:20 PM Originally posted by Section 8 Borla headers are the bottom of the "food chain" for headers. Agreed, but they are cheap, make a decent but not droning sound, and damn if anything ain't better than stock. |
