i can't seem to find where i read and saw a group of guys put a H6 into a GC8. I know they had space issues and stuff like that but would a WRX engine bay have more space? I'm also worring about the trans mission since an H6 would sit back futher than a H4 so my WRX trans probaly wouldn't be able to bolt on comfortably ( i think) What do you guys think? I would love to hear some of you idea's and comments please on this. I would definately be building the motor properly after i do lots of research there, then i would like to turbo charge it ( thats if it would fit) but if not forget about the hole idea. So hit me w/ you good opinions please. Thank you, Mario

it is a very close fit but it will go in without problems and modification at least in a gc8 chassis because the engine bay is that of a legacy but the new gdb chassis is different and i am unsure if it would fit the problem would be clearance in the front where the radiator is but the trans and engine bolt to the same place as the H4 that is how subaru can offer a H6 in a car with H4 standard and not make it expensive like the W8 passat

but why is the WRX motor not powerful enough? because there is lots of work to be done and if you dont want to make huge power a swap should give you the power yuou want

Cool thanks for the info man, I want to do it just to be different + an H6 could definately push more air than a H4 could. Man i just thought of some other stuff like i'm going to need a H6 ECu and i don't think my UTEC can work w/ that ECU? This is totally just an Concept for me right now but it is something i really want to do in the future. Thanks again

do a search on NASIOC and see if you can find the twin turbo 3.0 impreza

The H6 is less power than your 2.0 turbo engine.

However, the new EZ30-R is more hp. But still, you would be better off just buying an older impreza and doing it that way, or waiting for a better 6 cyl to swap in, something worth while.

But will our 2.0 turbo engine have more power than a Twin Turbo H6??

That's a loaded question. More importantly, at a given power level, an EJ20 will be more reliable than a turbo EZ30.

i spent a good hour yesterday reading the "subaru technical overview" manual from our service department. anyone read that book? its a very intense book with all the research they put into their cars.
one thing i noted is that they say that they designed the new 2.5 turbo(legacy) to have more noticeable torque throughout the lower rpms(and keep a balanced output through . and as for the new H6 it will be more apt for higher revving and considerably more top end capabilities. i am excited to see someone make a crazyfast H6.

power isnt everything, some people prefers NA.
thats why Legacy has both turbo model and H6 model..

I did EJ18 to EJ20 turbo swap but quite honestly I liked the feel of EJ18 better.
It was fun to dirve.. just dead slow.
I still dont really like the throttle response of turbo.
I think H6 is an interesting alternative.

With crazy mods, the H6 would definatly have an advantage, it could probably hit the 600hp barrier far quicker than the EJ's, but it would be much harder to do because there really isnt any support aftermarket wise for that engine so everything would be totally custom.
