Anyone have anything to say about these tires....good or bad?

Street driving (dry/wet) is awesome. I don't think they have the wet traction that other tires like the S-03 have, but it's still good. Dry traction is absolutely NO problem.

On the track day a few weeks ago, I never got them to break completely loose. I drifted a little every now & then, but other than that, nothing that wasn't completely controllable and predictable. I think they're a GREAT deal at the tirerack price, and I got them in 3 days!

I heard that these are one of the lighter tires around. Is that right?

How loud are they?

not loud at all, IMO. i have had then for a few days now, and so far i like them.

Quieter than Falken Azenis sport, SO3's, RE070's, even after track days. Excellent tire for the price.
Comfortable ride too, due to softer sidewalls.

I notice that it's a little louder than stock, but nothing too noticable. I'm busy all this week, but if you wanna take a drive on them next weekend to check 'em out, just let me know.

Really, that's good to hear. I have SO-3's right now on my WedSport SA-90's and they are not too loud.

The MX does offer a good deal of grip

The manufacture quality of the Kumho MX's are quite inconsistent from what I've heard. Some sets have rivalled the S-03's in performance, while others are nearly as bad as the RE92's. I used to think that it was just differences in opinion, but after discussing it with some folks it sure seems as if it's the quality of the tires itself. So caveat emptor -- buyer beware :D

If only they made this tire in 235/40/17 tire size..... sigh!

Luke -- I don't think any professionals have come to this conclusion, but just speaking to folks who own MX's, this seems to be a general opinion. Initially we all thought it was just a matter of personal taste, but after further discussion a few of us here on the boards have to come to conclusion somewhat like this. Perhaps it's something that should be looked into? :D

i am looking to buy these or the es100's by thursday, so say what you have to say so I can make up my mind. I think it's the es100's so far.

because:
bit cheaper
better wet traction
less noise
less treadwear
no ugly sidewall

can anyone change my mind for the better? or should i get these?

The MX's have been nothing but great for me.....cat on carpet in the dry....fair to good when wet and under 1/2 tread depth.

I have tried to get my car to slide and I stopped doing that when it became apparent that the car would likely roll rather than slide in dry conditions.

Those manufacturing inconsisties are the reason for the V710 recall. Not all of them are crap, just some of them. ;)

Go for Falken FK451 instead ;)

Errrrr ugly sidewall? I have the new Nitto Neogens and the sidewall looks like a race tire. Is that cosidered ugly?

When I'm checking out a tire, I tend to focus on the tread.
