is it safe to put 85W bulbs in the fog lights with everything stock?

No, you'll burn the socket and wiring up. The bulb would generate more heat and that's not a good thing. I put in Hella's with the same wattage, but the reflector is so much better, hence much better light. Brian

Make sure you're not looking at blubs that claim they appear to be 85W but are actually 55W my Ion Crystals have 55w = 85w on the lable but on the specifications on the bottom of the container claim they are 55W.

no, i was looking itnto getting some 85W Hella yellow star but they are on back order so i got the 55W instead.
