The 2.5 T that will be in the new Legacy's was debuted in the STi at the Detriot Show this week.

I imagine this will be the same engine, maybe detuned a bit for the upcoming Legacy's, wow! Can't wait.

I guess I will put the G35 coupe on hold.

BTW anyone know if the 2.5T is also in the regular WRX? Or will it still be the 2.0T?

Peace,
Dave

I am guessing that only the WRX STI will have the 2.5 T. The "regular" WRX will probably keep the 2.0T. Maybe a 2.2 edition also?

The 2.5 in the STi is definitely a surprise. My guess is that it will be based on the American market EJ205, meaning none of the trick bottom end of the Japanese market EJ207. We all know the 2.5 is maxed out as far as bore is concerned, it means narrower rod journals.......which are contrary to high revs. Sounds like a perfect setup for a Legacy GT Turbo though. I'll be keen to see if the 2.5T pops up in the Japanese market WRX. Hmmm.......

I will curious to see if it doesn't blow head gaskets before 80,000 miles like many of the EJ25 do.
