Ideally, a Meeting announcement will contain the date, time, location, and directions in the very first post so that members don't become confused when reading a discussion of various locations and dates.

A Meets thread should also give some of the basic Meeting information in the Subject line of the thread. Examples:

"Wednesday Night Drags at Infineon - April through October 2004"

"BBQ meet at Mt Hamilton - Saturday 13-Mar-2004"

Sometimes it's helpful to link to a company's web site for additional location and map info (when available). Example:

Fairfield In-N-Out (http://www.inandout.com/cgi-bin/inosearch.pl?category=store&data_in=125) Burger.

Union City Krispy Kreme (http://clients.mapquest.com/krispy/mqinterconnect?id=kk1027&streetaddress=32450%20Dyer%20Street&city=Union%20City&state=CA&zip=94587&country=US&level=9&phonenumber=510-471-6121&link=map2).

EDIT: If you have posted a Meet or Event thread and would like the thread title edited to read differently (for example: to include a date), send me a PM.

I think the Sacramento Meets thread is a perfect example of how a first post should be constructed :D
