But I read along and decided to go along with their decision. I got hurt when the better half of the organizer mrs.solo said qoute : Aheemm.. I own and was planning on bringing my WRX to this meet thinking it was a gathering to touch base with our fellow car enthusiasts. Considering we're bringing so much business to you why would this be a problem? Unless there is a specific reason as to why you would want Evo owners there only.. If it's a food thing, well then maybe people can bring whatever they want BBQ'd. Could you be more specific as to why you wouldn't want so many people showing up? end qoute... OH ! that hurts :( They do not believe that the i-club folks come in big numbers and it may just be a Subaru BBQ with a few evo's like one said.. either way I am there grillin... achrisco 02-17-2004, 12:38 AM Can I get some details like $$, etc. My neighbor with a blue Evo is going...I think I will join...thanks. gbmotorsports 02-17-2004, 12:44 AM no cost bro... I'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend anyone. I just recently met some cool people at the Great Mall (Redbull event) and didn't want anyone to feel "excluded". Especially after my better half had already invited people from there. On a side note i'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing what they've done to their cars. dr3d1zzl3 02-17-2004, 01:26 AM iwill be there, but only cause my wrx will still be on the lift probably hahahahaha j/k ill show up cause i cant get enought of those *******s at mpj/gb ;) (gino maybe i can stop and grab some lumpias for you this time) dorifto88 02-17-2004, 02:31 AM lumpias? isnt it just...lumpia?> Wingless Wonder 02-17-2004, 06:19 AM MPJ Performance/GB Motorsports (http://www.mpjperformance.com/main.html). I was just concerned and really looking out for the norcalevo guys to have it exclusive, I dunno if you remember that I was one of the original guys that stayed with the norcalevo forum on the very first days it was introduced and marketed it to a few DSM folks and Honda folks that are going the Lan Evo direction as we meet folks here at the shop. I was just shocked at your comment about how much buisness you are giving us when there is non to date and we do not expect to have any either, just want a good time and provide you norcalevo folks a facility to camp in. We have been in this arena for 22 years (we were the import scene before SCC and other magazines popped out)and just happen to change names. So same folks visit and a few added. ;)...we are the cheapest labor and parts and honest people around to date !!! I hope to meet you all in person and continue a good relation. Now what is the menu for the day ? At our last meet there were 30 EVO's total that showed. This meet there will most likely be between 30-40 since we have people from Sacramento driving down. There still may not be as many EVO's as there are WRX's that show, but hopefully close. This will definitely be a fun gathering for sure :) http://www.norcalevo.net/gallery/albums/album29/052_G.jpg joltdudeuc 02-21-2004, 11:23 PM ok... there will be next to nothing for parking... wow -Gagan JanSolo 02-22-2004, 08:00 PM I am the person doing the organizing the Evo meet with Gino - and my wife dealt Gino a grievous emotional blow. Sorry about that, Gino. ;) We are expecting about 40 Evos total, but now looking the activity on i-Club, I think we might be overwhelmed by the WRX guys. As long as Gino and Mike have enough food, all should be well. I was hoping one or two of you guys might be able to help my wife and myself out. We are trying to weigh our options on an ECU reflash for her WRX so we were trying to decide between the Cobb Access reflash or the reflash that Shiv@Vishnu is offering. If anyone on here has either, we were hoping you could show up and give my wife and I a quick ride around the block. Thanks in advance to anyone who decides to be generous and see you all on the 28th. I have the i-speed reflash on my car with a VF-34 on my car, I am very happy with it. I'd be more then happy to give you a ride around the block. -Zoeb Ex-ricer 02-22-2004, 11:30 PM I'd be more then happy to give you a ride around the block. DON'T DO IT! Hahaha. BTW I think you should go UTEC. I don't know anything about how it works, but Mike and Andrew made my car go vroom vroom. josh JanSolo 02-23-2004, 12:13 AM I checked out the Utec a couple times (still waiting for TurboXS to release it to the Evo world). This is probably too much for my wife right now. She just wants a bit more and to increase her low end power. Thanks for the offer on the ride. Please promise not to kill us (maiming is okay, though). I checked out the I-Speed reflash, but I felt a bit confused reading their web site. I am not sure what kind of gains they were seeing on a stock WRX. I also checked out the price which looks like 650$ plus 90$/hour to tune. Ouch. The base Cobb tune is about 400$ plus additional costs for shipping, which for a baseline flash seems pretty reasonable to me. soundwave 02-23-2004, 12:18 AM There's also the Cobb Accessport ($550 or so) which alows you to reflash your car to any of their stages. And you don't have to ship your ECU. It comes out next week. moreHP 02-23-2004, 01:47 PM Originally posted by soundwave show up @ the starbucks @ mccarthy ranch 11am. :D Who is planning to meet there? All of these folks will be more than happy to give both of you a ride around the bock.... FYI our WRX is in the 12's with UTEC... and the extra maps you can use for low boost and lower octane gas usage. Like saving money on a daily drive thing...etc.. I can explain more when you get here.. see you soon gino Zoeb2s 02-23-2004, 03:56 PM Originally posted by JanSolo I checked out the I-Speed reflash, but I felt a bit confused reading their web site. The $650 INCLUDES 2 hours of tuning. evo_dadi 02-23-2004, 09:50 PM hey jan just switch cars so its an even testdrive ;) reflashed wrx and a reflashed evo. JanSolo 02-23-2004, 10:47 PM Well I would not mind checking out the options for the wife's car. I am pretty open minded to the options out there, but I just want to make sure we get something with good results and a nice and flat dyno curve - peak numbers are not a priority at all. dr3d1zzl3 02-24-2004, 07:01 PM bump and go for the shiv reflash, shiv knows his ish better then anyone else as fasr as efi tuning goes. Plus he is local and well a cool guy. But what do i know i am a shiv fan boi! gbmotorsports 02-24-2004, 11:59 PM I would put my money on Shiv with your needs. No need to be too agressive on tuning and "LOCAL" tuners always give support in a timely manner. ;) gino dr3d1zzl3 02-25-2004, 01:40 AM ya cause if they dont u can park your car at their shop for a month or so :) hahaha Mrs. Solo 02-25-2004, 11:11 AM Originally posted by dr3d1zzl3 bump and go for the shiv reflash, shiv knows his ish better then anyone else as fasr as efi tuning goes. Im glad i went on the drive and got in the first group of cars (was like 5 of us) because we went at a pretty good pace. Evo stock suspension vs hks hipermax 2 coilovers is no match though :D hahah jk. But yea that was a great turnout at mpj. There were a ton of evo's, i think they even outnumbered the wrx's. I would like to thank mpj for putting this meet on and Jansolo and the evo guys for involving us in this meet. Also Mrs. solo did you get the uppipe or rear sway bar on your car? Those two mods are a great starting point and will change the way the car feels alot. gbmotorsports 02-28-2004, 05:26 PM They came they ate and they left :D.... darn subies ate all the food LOL....... we are still grillin :D someone got some more meat hehehehehe !!! Damaged Goods 02-28-2004, 11:24 PM hmmm, and when i left that was the first time ive ever been passed by a 350z on the shoulder.....wtf was that?? Krinkov 02-29-2004, 01:05 AM heard on NorCalEvo that the cops rolled up at the end of the day and were poping hoods and threatening to pull licences! All because they had a multiple complaints about a "red lancer" blowing up and down Winton like a maniac. I aint naming names, but... nice turnout though, probably 50+ cars:) Mrs. Solo 02-29-2004, 01:38 AM Yup, the cops said that the one thing that saved the EVO owners from getting their cars towed due to their illegal mods was the fact that we were on private property. Plus they had no proof that it was any of the EVO's that were in the parking lot to begin with in regards to whom ever was "racing". It was lame, hopefully everything is cool. And seriously there were 5 police cars that showed up total at one point. Do Hayward cops have nothing better to do? Other than that it was a great meet, I appreciate the offer given to myself and my hubby by Dan's buddy with the ispeed flash. I apologize I forgot your name, and forgot to take you up on the offer later in the afternoon after the raffle dangit :( I did get my up pipe installed and do feel a little bit of a difference, it's very cool.. yay my first mod :) gbmotorsports 02-29-2004, 01:49 AM In the future I would really appreciate if everyone would at least be safe and not do anything crazy. I just got my behind chewed out by HPD on the phone and "Do not blame it all on the red car". Meets are cool, but as a shop owner " I worry about the safety of everyone and let us just be more considerate in the future. I was not aware of cars racing up and down Winton, my appologies to HPD. I tried to be fair and nice as possible to the cops so they wouldn't bother you at all. We want to be able to come back here again, so we want things with you and the local PD to be smooth.
