I've been driving my poor RS as a pizza car since the day I bought it in Oct '98. I love the car too death.
As a pizza driver, I jump in and out of my ride about 50+ times a day. To make this short, the drivers seat is shot. The fram pokes my back, the two highest notches on the recline are gone, forcing me to ride like a G. I have a white Impreza with the grey race checkered interior.
I'm pretty positive, no salvage yard will have a matching seat...
I'm pretty sure that buying a new OEM seat is $1000+
What am I to do? I can barely stand driving with this seat.
Are the driver/passanger swappable? I could live with the levers on the wrong side.
Hey, what happends to all the OEM seats that modders replace? They have to go somewhere.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for any help.

if you truly love your car to death buy these. 500 bucks versus 1000 or reupholstering?? its up to you. me.... if i didn't already have my sti seats i'd opt for a pair of these. plus i think the color might be fitting considering you deliver pizzas!

I always assumed that the after market, more racer type steats would be far less comfortable. Since I my car works for a living, having a comfortable seat is important. I loved the factory seats. How would sti or WRX seats compare in comfort. Like 8 hours a day comfort.

But do WRX seats fit/mount in a '99 RS? I have seen alot of WRX OEM seats avaible.

They've got cheaper knock-off seats on E-bay for pretty darn cheap. Worth a shot.

the V5 STi seats are really comfortable. My friend has them in his 99 RS. I would drop a pair in my car if i hadd the money.

I have a '99 RS which I bought Fall '98. Did they change everything between 98-99 or just the front end? I have dark grey checkered seats.
Doesn't matter I bought an APC Sports Seat from Jegs.com, I wish you would of wrote 6 hours earlier bud. Here is the pic of the seat I ordered for $150.
I suppose now, everyone will tell me how they suck..... :P

No one has told me how difficult fitting or installing them into my '99 RS would be. That would be the information I need before considering buying WRX or STi seats.

hi, my brother-in law has an upholstery shop in pa and i called him and he just did an impreza seat repair last week. They guy got the material from a subaru dealership. My bro- said that he thinks tahet the guy paid about 190 for the material. you might be able to go to subaruparts.com and do a search under impreza parts or you might be able to call them and get it thru them. i bought some parts thru them they always beat dealer prices around here. if you have an?'s email me JohnNdebb@aol.com. Also you might have to go upholstery shop to have it installed but it would be cheaper than buying new seats. :D

I got my seats and put them in yesterday. God it's nice to have OEM seats that aren't ruined. So I'm all taken care of. Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions.
