it doesnt replace the ecu. the ecu wires plugs into the adapter and the adapter plugs into the ecu. it sits ontop of the ecu. under the kickplate. it is a good model. though if you really want power then a reflash or a utec would be the choice. how ever they are both close to $850. the unichip is best used with a boost controller. the best gain is from the bc and the chip together. any bc will do.
