Unless you are going to track your car, you won't need roll bars.

okay, if they're serious about it here is your answer. its the STi 6-point roll cage designed for the WRX/STi sedan. i found this on http://www.fourstarmotorsports.com (they're in canada).

its not something you need for the street, but if you want to modify your car, and keep your folks happy.....

oh i think im going with the Cusco bolt-in roll cage, a local dealer has then for sale(MPJ Performance). but does anyone know if the sparco harness bar will work with that roll cage? or is there another mounting solution for the harnesses that you will still be able to use the rear seats? i meant if i get one im going with that one, lol still not sure if its needed.

Aren't roll cages sorta unsafe on the street? I mean, you're not wearing a helmet, so what if your head slams into the thing in a head-on? Unless you have harnesses holding you back, that is. You're not really supposed to do harnesses w/out the cage either, as if you flip over, the roof could crush and you won't be able to get out.

yea i understand what you are saying. but if i did get the cage i would get harnesses too. but does anyone know if the sparco harness bar will fit with the cusco cage?

i'm sure that you can get a cusco bar and just hook up a bar across the back. just get it done at a muffler shop or somewhere that can weld.

I had the Speedware harness bar in my 03. Unless your under 5' 10" I do not reccomend it. I am 5' 9" and was comfy, my 6 foot plus buddys were definatly cramped. The car was hit by a big ass Buick and the harnesses held me in, that was the reason that saved my car (under post wrecked). If you go with harnesses go with the racing harnesses to wrap around the bar. I got the street ones that mounted to the floor so the bar was pointless for the harnesses. It did make the chassis stiff as hell. :D Keep your stock belts too. Got the bar from Vivid racing. Returning my car to stock, so I will be selling the harnesses and bar. Gotta wait to get the car back from the shop though (bout a month). Here is a pic.

tell you dad that a roll bar just makes it more dangerous unless its well covered or your wearing a helmet. You dont want your head and metal doesnt mix :(

A bolt in cage is a wast of cash. Any one worth having is going to need to be welded in. I have a Group N cage going in next week.

Not real shure yet. I dont even know when I will be able to get the car to pull the bar. Most likely month or so. But it would be in the range of $120 less than new.
