Hey guys...after 2 years of only getting barely dusty, our 02 wrx wagon get's SUPER gross on the dashboard after a tank of gas.

I'm thinking it's that interior cabin filter...but has anyone changed it or had this problem?

I always wondered where that filter was. Do ALL my02-03 WRX have that?

Im sure that's the problem though...

You driving around with your windows down? Maybe parking the car with 'em down? That makes for plenty of dust on the dash. Is there any other sort of filth besides just dust? If you don't have the dealer option pollen filter you might be getting plenty of pollen through the vents maybe.

Easy steps for cleaning the dash

1. Roll all windows down as far as they go.

2. Enter drivers seat.

3. Start car

4. Drive really fast.

5. Enjoy!

I have the same trouble?????

i don't see how a cabin filter would help, get some good ol cleaning whipes and get cleaning...

I use meguiers dash foam, that stuff works really well, and it leaves your car smelling good also.

Mother's PRESERVES. Awesome stuff. Restores without the greasiness of ArmorAll and I liked it better than the Meguiar's.

So your dashboard doesn't end up all shiny??? or does it stay looking the same way it was before... just cleaner?

It looks like new. New dashboards dont look shiny... just "new" :D It looks clean, uh, refreshed (heh?). So no, it doesnt look shiny. And, yes it looks cleaner. Like new :)

I replaced mine over the summer after ~ 2yrs, and it was pretty gross.

As for the dust, get some swiffer wipes. Those things rule for getting all of the lint and dist off the dash, steering column, cracks, whatever.

yeah, i have an 04 and the dash is really dusty / linty (to make words up). I tried using micro-filter rags and the stuff just doesnt want to come off. I am going to try the Mother's... I have heard of others who have had success with this. Thanks

its a option to have the cabin filter, it is located behind the glove box. that should help reduce some dust, but another problem is that when u use armorall on the dash and it gets all shiney it holds dust on the dash aswell i just started getting dust now that i detailed inside my car, when the dash is dry of thay crap i dont have the issue as much
