Well, maybe Subaru paint has gotten better (I've heard it hasn't) but my friends Black/Silver '97 OB is now a black w/ lots of white specks '97 OB.

Yeah, I'm the aforementioned OB owner.
First, Suvaru doens't make a real black, it's either a dark blue, a very deep maroon, or a back/gold metalflake. thay all look gorgeous when clean, but Subaru paint quality sucks. It's soft, and it's thin. My hood looks like it's covered with flecks of white paint, all over. It has swirl marks, all over. It has bigger chips and poor, thin clearcoat, all over.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I'll never buy another black Subaru.

Black 2.5 GT.... the stealth look is sooo cool. Just picture that thing with tinted windows. oooohhhh cargasm.

I've not had any paint problems with my current subaru or the last one. It probably is because I wax and polish the thing once a month during the non-winter months.

But i am so happy this car will be here this summer. I really love the WRX STI but not as a daily driver living in NYC. Anyone else in the city buying one. Any opinions on the best dealer to buy from.. Iwas thinking about Safe Suby or Beltway Buick/Suby...

saw the silver one today in detroit... looks good. i would want black if i was in the market for one despite the paint situation.

I have never previously been a fan of white, but this pic on the Subaru B4 site of a white Legacy with blacked out windows and a set of 10-spoke wheels which has changed my opinion.
