Finally, the Autronic ECU has been released. This is, hands down, one of the best ECUs on the market.
TECIII Versatility, with a board that is simply PnP. This is so tight. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it.
These guys are the ones that did the BETA work with it:

I think that I will pick one up next week.
Retail is $1599.

Oh, just so you know. The lead Engineer/Owner of Autronic was brought up through Motec. He then spun off and created Autronic.

Shiv was / is also involed with the R&D. I am a bit reluctant to purchase it until Shiv has officialy stated its availability. Its a bit strange that Shiv is not posting about this topic too. I wonder if Shiv feels it's not ready for official release yet ? Why wouldn't Autronic ( Richard Aubin ) want all the R&D guys to universally anounce its availability ? Has Shiv given up on it in favor of the ECUTek ? Lots of questions to be answered before I buy it.

Well,
These guys are the official distributors. There is a very long thread about this product over on the "Other" boards. I will post up the link here.
And just so you know...if Shiv doesn't sell it, then it is crap. For the most part anyways. He is a great tuner, but the above is one of his weaknesses.

Hi Andy I spoke to EFI-GUY a number of months ago when he first anounced the pending release of the new Autronic PnP ecu on the "other" club. In that same thread Shiv chimed in and I got the impression that he was the lead R&D person working with Autronic here in the U.S., that's why I am a bit confused. In the end it really doesn't matter as long as the research was done thoroughly and the end user support will be there when needed.
I have been waiting for this ecu because I need to be able to control AVCS in my ver. 7 motor.

HI guys!
Just to give credit where credit is due......
Shiv has been working very hard and for a long time on the PnP boards......as have we.
He was very instrumental in helping get the project off the ground and he's done a teriffic job.
I do believe that he is currently testing the final "production" type board right now.
We have been working on this and many other projects and we have been able to complete a handbuilt version of this board that we made PnP for MY01-02.
We will sell this handbuilt version to all that wish to get one.
Any current autronic dealer has had info available to build these boards by hand for some time now, but none have taken the opportunity......mostly because this stuff isn't easy. If it was, then everyboddy would do it.
I understand that Shiv is well respected on this and "other" boards and that some will not use anything until he says its ok, and thats cool. But for those that didn't want to wait anymore there is always this option.
There will be no "exclusive" dealers for these units and all current Autronic dealers will have access to sell, install and tune the units just as they do now with the current stand-alone's.
I don't really believe that these boards are designed for people to sit and argue all the time about who did what and why one guys system is good and one is trash.
The object is for all of us who are passionate about performance........especially Subaru performance, to have a place to share information and ideas about good products.

Hi Ben, sounds good and I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I am very happy to hear the progress you've made. Please keep us updated as to when the AVCS program is up and running.
Thank you, Tom..

very nice products. I have been using the smc for a couple months. I really like it. made huge power gains on my legacy turbo. is 1599 for the piggy back unit? seems like alot.

No kelly,
1699 is the retail cost for the Plug and Play unit......this is NOT a piggy back. No wiring, no factory ecu. This is a complete stand alone ecu that will plug into the factory harness.
There are a lot of functions that are performed on board including dwell adapters for the stock sensors and such that added a lot of time and effort, and extral parts to this unit to make it truly PnP.

P.s. Glad to hear you are happy with your SMC.

Hey Stealth-WRX,
Man, I'm sorry I dropped the ball on you.......I meant to reply before I went out of town...........
If you'd like a board, you can call me at the shop, and give us a 50% deposit. It will take 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 weeks to finish the board as I am currently building them on request only. I am hoping the production units will be ready soon, so I don't want to build a whole bunch by hand if I don't have to. No sense doing all that work just to have them on the shelf, ya know?
