Is this the closest SCCA RallyX to S.F.? Thunderhill's kinda far from the City IMO hehe...

Not that far... Considering before T-hill stared having them, the only rallycrosses closest to Northern California were down by LA :p

Impresiv - you should check around in your area - there's lots of Rally-X even in the winter, they run on ice/snow.

I just got back from the Rally-X and it was lots of fun - probably 60 cars or so showed up, plenty of PGT cars, 6 or so Open class which were fun to watch.

The rally school on saturday was really awesome. The driving time was brief, but great - they had a Figure 8 course, skid pad and slalom all on loose dirt/slick mud. Very Fun. A couple of the instructors were from the ProRally national ranks - Lauchlin O'Sullivan (Mistubishi) rode with me on the 8 & was working my e-brake to give me my car some encouragement - very fun!!

Yep, lots of fun. A little chilly, but much better than the 100+ temps we had back in July. I like that course, but man was it slick when it was wetted down. It was definitely a lot faster at the end during the fun runs. I just wish I hadn't popped my tire off.

Oh well. Thanks to some help from iBlueVirus and a lot of help from MoDrift (remind me to bring my own jack next time), I got it reseated, and it seems to be fine. At any rate, I drove the 180 miles home on it without any problems.

Pretty cool weekend, all in all. It was great to have a place to practice left-foot braking and doing e-brake turns, and I even managed to snag a ride in Terry Stonecipher's rally truck.

Dang... if I would have kept my cool and didn't tack on two cones it would have been a 3 way tie for first.

Hoche - I watched the video Megan shot of that "fantom" cone I swear I hit when you were riding as passenger and every cone was standing behind me. I have absolutely no idea how that happened! :D Of course, it was still standing, so that's what counts. Also - I have your runs on video (and some stills). I'll let you know when I get them put together.

Pete (black WRX #4) pulled in a 65 during a fun run! Of course, with his Stage Zero his launches kicked my ass. I'm glad we had time for fun runs - the couse definitely got faster/stickier for 3rd and 4th run groups.

Stickier?! STICKIER?! And just what do you call that lake that I and Alan and just about everyone else in my run group slid through, hmmm?

Stickier, my *bleep*.

Thanks for shooting that video. I'm anxious to see how what I think is going on inside the car compares to what was going on outside the car. If you want to put mine up on a public spot, that's fine. I can snag 'em and put 'em up on my home server. That one run will serve everyone as a prime example of what not to do. (I hit the above-mentioned slick spot, slid off into the dirt, downshifted to first, ground my way out, hit another patch, slid again, and then missed the shift to second.)

As for your run, I swear, I'm going to file a protest and have your car inspected for any anti-cone technology. I just just don't see any other explanation for it. There's no possible way you could've missed that cone.

LOL - yeah, ok. The rest of the course was really coming together nicely though. Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better. :) But all the times of the 3rd run group seemed to average lower.

(off topic: this new board is really ghetto... login cookies don't work, email notification doesn't work....)

Woah. Cool!

Veddy veddy eenteresting. The lines were roughly as I expected, though I would've liked to have cut the apexes a little closer. I was definitely trying to late apex everything, but I seem to've been a little too late in some places. Also, I think I was dragging the brakes a little too much with my left foot. I'm not getting any car rotation at all. Hm.

Hard to believe that last one was a .71. I look dog slow out there.

And gah, that first one was horrible. *shudder*.

Ok, so where're your runs?

I'll encode the rest of the footage tomorrow and post it up. Nothing too exciting from the footage of my laps... even my 68 doesn't look like much.

Check out the this thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=280437) over at BAIC - Casey posted a ton of pics.

Hoche - I posted some other footage on the BAIC thread. I'm having "technical difficulties" with this site.
