Problem with 2002 rs 02 sensor?
Well to get everyone aquantied with my car I have put in the Borla Headers which goes into the cat and out through a Greddy EVO exhuast. Heres my deal. I had to use that Pony Express chip to fix the problem resistor/capacitor *which didnt help after driving for about 80 miles resetting and having it do the same thing(ie.CEL) My real problem is this to me it seems as though my front O2 sensor is bad. The car when I connceted up a air fuel gauge went all the way to RICH pinned there and not moving. Now one of two things may have happend. 1. wrong wire conncted for signal or two issue with O2.
I have options but there spendy. I could go to the dealer and ask them to take a peak. But with these mods will I be asking for trouble from them? Loosing my warranty??
Else I could purchase the front o2 and not worry about subaru. But then again 80.00 for a sensor that may not even be an issue is highly depressing.
Can anyone help me figure this blasted thing out? And if anyone knows anything about the warrantys what are my chances they will blame it all on the modifications?
Thanks.
Oh one last thing I did get a code reader and it stated something like bank1 heaterlow or somethign along those lines. I cant find the code as for its lost on a piece of paper someplace here. But could that mean that its a bad o2 sensor now?? Could unplugging and plugging the front o2 while the car was running maybe have ruined it to a point =// (it was somewhat of an accident...
Thanks guys sorry for the lengthy mess...

My car was eating o2 sensors for a while(about six, i think)until my boy at my local dealer told me of a reflash for '01 and up foresters and outbacks. He checked my car's ecu number and it was in the same family of ecu's so he reflashed it. We don't know exactly what the reflash changed, but it definitely fixed the problem. If you have any friends at your local dealer go ask about it, didn't cost me a dime. Hope this helps, later.
p.s. my car is a '00 RS with JC Sports intake and 2.5 inch cat-back

i own an 02 rs, i do not believe there are any reflashes for our vehicles. i would have someone look at the wiring before replacing the 02 sensor. i have had my borla headers on for a while... cel free. knock on wood. and i also have no problems with my af guage but i did not install it myself.
check the wires first.
good luck
