For Sale: 2000 Subaru 2.5RS - Modified with EJ22T block and turbo

Located in Eugene, Oregon

$16,000

2000 Aspen White 2.5RS, Factory Leather (not aftermarket or port-installed), Alarm, Subaru Premium Sound (pretty good!), cruise control, painted rocker panels to match, debadged

The EJ22T shortblock has a closed deck design, dished pistons, and oil squirters for the back of the pistons to help deter detonation. With the SOHC EJ25 head gasket it has a compression ratio around 7.8:1 which allows high boost applications. Engines like this have been run near 30 psi boost and well over 350 horsepower. All this one needs to make monster power is bigger injectors, a different ECU (like a Link), and maybe a bigger intercooler.

ENGINE MODS
Ludespeed Stage II turbo kit: T3/4 turbo, ludespeed top mount intercooler, rrfpr, svx fpr, walbro fuel pump, Apexi S-AFC, Autometer boost guage, fuel pressure guage, and EGT guage, Haltech A/F meter. Blitz blow off valve, Stromung dual tip exhaust

CHASSIS MODS
KYB AGX struts with Ground Control single-rate springs (adjustable ride height and damping front and rear)
Whiteline Rear Adjustable swaybar (18-22mm)
STi engine and tranny mounts

The boost has always been set to 10psi or less (running 8-10 max currently) so the engine has not been stressed at all, not even approaching its potential really. Just needs more fuel so you can crank up the boost and have a beast. The car is very fast, corners flat as a board, and is very nice inside with the leather, stereo, sunroof, and electric everything.

30,000 miles (about 15,000 of that on EJ22T shortblock if i remember correctly).

The car is exactly what I had hoped it would be when I bought it, turns out I just didn't know what it was that i wanted. I will stick to getting my thrills on 2 wheels. I want to either get a cheaper car so that i can afford to buy a sportbike again, or get an SUV (I know, I know... defecting to the dark side). Anyway, I chalk it up as a learning experience, chances are i still don't know what i want, but at least I'm starting to narrow it down

Some of the pictures (mostly the smaller ones) were taken by Eric (Eric SS aka Eric v5.7 Beta aka Imprezinator, aka whatever else he was named), he was the previous (and first) owner. I flew down to Phoenix and drove the car back to Eugene (~900 miles) it was actually a pretty cool trip, a lot of fun. Kind of an adventure going to get the new car, so if you're not exactly local, don't put it out of the question, could be a good road trip for ya.

I included a couple of a different car to show what it looks like with painted rocker panels since my car now has them but i have no pictures since having them painted. Also there's a picture Eric took of the original 2.5 shortblock (which i will consider parting out, or sell with the car, doesn't really matter).

Also, i need to mention that there has been a fire in the engine compartment. A fuel line burst (fuel pressure has since been lowered) and caused a fire. It happened while i was parked in front of the garage letting the engine idle. I grabbed a fire extinguisher immediately and the fire didn't burn for more than probably 90 seconds or so. Damage was limited to melted wires, cables, and hoses, smoke damage to the paint, and a melted hood scoop. Insurance covered all of it. The car was repaired at Rallitek in Portland, and the hood (and rockers) repainted by Trachsle Body and Paint in Salem (good guys). It's all fixed now, better than it was before in fact.
