Question for STI owners..

Do you ever hear a gurgling sound after the car has warmed up some and youve been driving for a while.

It only happens when im slowing down and not on the gas but still in gear. Ya know what I mean? Like when downshifting and the RPMs drop below 2k RPM.. I get the gurrrrgling sound, almost like pinging...

Anyone?

nope. Pinging sounds NOTHING like a gurgle and IF it ever happens it's only on REALLY hot days when FLOORING it, typically around 3800-5000rmps

Just enjoy the sounds of your exhaust. perfectly normal

Maybe you're lugging the engine. It's normal man, happens on my WRX too, although I think I'm cursed with gremlins at times.

I get the gurgling below 2500 rpm too when I let off the gas. I was wondering about that too.

It could be backfiring, it would be pretty muffled due to the cats. More likely is backfire if you have no cats.

I get this on my '04 WRX - it definately sounds like gurgling water. I'm not sure if it's from the heating system or not - I never heard it through the summer (got the car in April), but I seem to be hearing it more now when the weather is cooler. Has anyone asked the dealer about this. I'm bring the car in to the dealer on friday. I have to remember to ask while I'm there.
