What is up with attaching pictures?

What is up with attaching pictures?
I used to have to crunch JPEGs down to less than 51K, which was a drag, but at least I got pictures up.
Now the little screen says up to 100K can be attached, but now it seems no pictures will post- at least from my browser-
When I hit "submit" the file just disappears from the "attach file" filename window.
I tried PM'ing Alex and he hasn't gotten back to me.
Does anybody else know-

Well yeah, this is what happened to Nasioc. All those pictures were getting too big and overloading the systems. So they banned attachments and now people must find a host from a website with the specific picture and link it. I know.. quite lame, but you can't blame them too much.
Anyways, hoping it doesn't get that far here, but maybe we can do that website linking thing if necessary to save space.
