I draged my STI last nite. Like the last link, it was my first time ever at track. My STI has 1k on it. I left the Subs in trunk and ran it like street. I should have ran it like I stole it.

I put down a couple real lemons. My best run:

R/T 2.095
60 2.042
330 5.749
1/8 8.852
990 11.503
1/4 13.766

The run was funny. I was nervous and nobody gave me any help on how to drag. I spent most of my 3 runs learning what goes on. The reaction time was real funny. Someone told me to launch at the 3rd yellow. I decided to rev to 4k. OK, I was all set. The third yellow comes on, I let out the clutch. NOTHING! Oh S__T! I'm not in gear. I let off gas, get it in gear and go. I suspect I was @ about 3K when I left, 2 secounds latter (hehe).

Still not a bad run. MY 1 & 3 runs were worse, plauged with other beginer drauma. I will go back next week. Plan to get 13.5 or better. If I don't I will have to sell car and buy a pinto.

congratulations, fun as hell isn't it?

Did you use race gas or 91 octane California special?

Cal 91 with boost. I plan to get 100 @ 76 and make a "home blend"

Ya, it was fun. I plan to get better fast, or better getting fast.

I was running Cal 91 with a can of boost. I ran again 1 week ago and did a 13.52. My reaction times sucked so I lost. I felt like I should be faster but I’m losing time in the end. One run 13.6, I was 2/10’s faster all the way to the end? I might be going to 4th to soon, or too late?

I think they will have 1 more day before season ends. Hopefully I can get to track and get 13.4 or better. I need to practice my shifting and do some research on optimal RPM to shift at.

I have been reviewing Dyno graph at Vishnu’s web site. It seems optimal shift point might be around 6700, not redline??????

Anyone have any insight???

Not criticizing or anything, but what's up with the reaction time? 2.0? My first time, I was hitting .640s... Don't worry though, everything will get better with practice...

Why don't you stop by the regular Saturday Night Meet (http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30788) in Natomas?

We went to the Wednesday Night Drags at Sac Raceway twice in November, IIRC. Some of the guys also do autocross in Reno and track days at Thunderhill.
