What do you think... $24,700 + tax/title/tags for a WRX sedan with the premium package, auto dimming mirror, short throw shifter, upgraded security, upgraded stereo/subwoofer, turbo gauge, arm rest extension, 100 miles. Color is Java Black Pearl. The only thing that bothers me is the 100 miles. I can basically get any WRX on the lot for $750 under invoice, and the dealer options are also at invoice. I might look at some other ones that have less "Demo" miles. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
:)
Forgot... It's a manual also.

100 miles, what, is it a demo? Don't buy a demo, they're just abused from the get-go, and you don't really want that.
Couple things, the upgraded system isn't really all that worth it, you could get one custom installed for less. If you can get any WRX on the lot for 750 under invoice and the other options at invoice, you'd probably get one with like 4 miles on it at about the same price.

Yeah... I have pretty much decided that I am not getting the one w/ 100 miles. I think I am going for one with under 10 miles in blue or black and the premium package. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitly post it once I get it. Hey downshift... it's $24,700 + tax/title/tags. I live in Pennsylvania and the tax is 6% so it would be roughly $26,200 or so. Does yours have a the premium package with the sunroof, heated seats, etc? Ideally I am looking to get one with just the premium package, then add the short throw shifter, gauge, and so on aftermarket. I can get the base WRX with Premium Package (Moonroof, spoiler, heated seats, heated mirrors, heated wiper elements) for $23,634 + title/tax/tags. It would also have less than 10 miles on it as well. I like some of the Greddy gauges and I think I would rather have one that reads in PSI. I have also heard good things about the Cobb short throw shifter. Sorry for the rambling, and thanks again for your comments.

yea rock, thats good, tax in california is 8%. but u are still getting a good deal for ur car.. but if u want to get the premium package, and its gona costs 26,200 around there totally.. thats a good deal. but if u get premium package with heated seats and all those moonroof and all those luxury goodies, u will be adding addional luxury weight, the heated seats, moonroof will add extra weight, but if u want ur car to be more luxury then go for it. for me. i got the short throw shifter because its part of the tranny warranty. if seomthing goes wrong i got it under warranty, but if u get an aftermarket short throw, u may void your warranty since the shifter is part of the tranny. i got the turbo gauge cause it looked good and wasnt a factor in the cost since it was just added in for free, a base wrx vs a base wrx+guage would be the same price anyways at my dealer. and the spoiler was the same situation. so for me i wanted as little weigh as possible, thats why i bought the SEDAN WRX vs the wagon, and i got short throw for speed, im more into racing. there for i want less weight with good racing attributes.
if u want to race and have warm seats that good too, but remember, my car will be faster my set up is more raced out than ur heated seats and moonroof ;) depends, u want to lean towards luuxury, premium package is good, u want t o lean towards racing, dont get a moonroof. for a racer its all about less weight and more power. =) either way u got good deals. real good.

just remember gettin aftermarket parts will void warranty and warranty is money... so remember u want to make sure ur car is running perfectly fine for the first at least 10,000 or more miles before u want to start modding it, because it would suck. if u modded ur car at 8000 miles and then something went wrong with ur car because of factory error. then ur warranty wont back you up, you will ahve to pay lets say 4000 for a new tranny or something, so remember, u want to keep ur car bone stock for a good amount of time so its worth ur 26 grand.

Thanks downshift. I am not too concerned about the additional weight... I basically want an all wheel drive performance sedan so the few pounds added by the moonroof, etc probably won't matter to me. The car is going to be used for commuting and daily driving and I do not have any plans to do any racing, etc but you made a good point to consider. I may go with the factory short throw for the warranty reasons that you brought up.

cali is having exellent deals on wrx. i was there over the summer and went to take a look at the wrx. they were selling them at $21,000 flat, plus 8% tax($2,000), plus the premium package. comes out to about $24,000. cause the economy there is in the toilet, thats why theyre having such good deals. they were also giving 0% financing.

Has anyone gotten the 0% financing? From what I understand, it is only for the two year loans. 2.9% for 3 year loans and 3.9% for anything up to 5 years... Still not too bad for a loan rate. Just curious if anyone has taken advantage of it and has some additional insight to share.
Thanks!

I got my 04 suby with the following
-Wing
-Short Throw Shifter
-Boost Gauge
-Sub and amp upgrade
-Titanium Shift Knob
-ProDrive Package (17 in OZ superlegga rims with pirelli p6000 summer tires)
I only paid 24,000
All I can recommend call 3 or 4 of the top subaru dealerships in your area and price war them all, I did that with mine and ended up shaving like almost 3k off of my price...paid 100 over invoice, like 3500 under MSRP, if you live in ct I will set you up with the dealership that gave me the best price and beat the largest dealership in ct...E-mail is NTFireFighter@yahoo.com

My 02 cost $23,940.87 after taxes etc. Wagon has double armrest, 6 cd stereo, auto/compass mirror, cargo net, etc.
Bought in Westchester County, NY (just above NYC 13 months ago. Newspapers here show every Sub. dealer has STI in stock, ready for delivery, which ought to make the pricing a bit competitive. It's still not worth driving to CA, though.

Rock,
The price of 23,900 does not include taxes, title, as those are all different in each state. In Nebraska, we pay the taxes and title sepreratly away from the dealer. Good luck, if you want, I can give you my dealers name and the salesman I used. They can always work out a deal, and being the midwest, everyone drives domestic cars, so they are always needing to move subies......PM me if you want for my guy.....

Thanks Dave.... I think I have a pretty good thing going with the dealer here in Pennsylvania. $750 under invoice plus the governments cut. I am looking at one with the premium package (add 1,500 to the base car) and maybe the short throw shifter. The car I originally posted at $24,700 was pretty well loaded but already had 100 miles on it. I was trying to feel out what everyone else across the US was paying for theirs to gauge what kind of deal I am getting. Now I am basically waiting to sell my 96' blazer privately and take the proceeds to buy the WRX. Now I just have to decide between the Java Black Pearl or the WR Blue. I like both.

Go blue, i have had black cars and i have the blue wrx now, and the black is sooooo hard to hide scratches, dings and dents that you get from the basic road driving, also blue is just as hot, and not everyone in the world has blue. but thats my opinion
also check www.edmunds.com to see the real invoice for the car and all the options and waht the dealer pays for it, and what they retail it for, really see what kinda of deal you are getting, if its less than invoice to start with i would carefully look the car over before you get it, espically if it was a demo car, i have heard bad stories about that before

Thanks NTFF. I have looked at kelly Blue book and got the msrp from there and everything checks out. I have a friend that works for Subaru of America and has sent me a VIP letter. It is a pretty standard deal... invoice less whatever "customer cash back" Subaru is giving. I can pick basically any car in the Subaru lineup except for the STI since they are more limited in availability. I want the WRX, and am going to make sure that the car I get has less than 10 miles on it and was not the regular dealer demo. The place I am working with now has about 15-20 WRXs on the lot so there are a bunch of choices, but I am somewhat limited by what I specifically want. I hear ya on the difficulty of keeping a black car clean.. that is one of my concerns with it, but when it IS clean it looks awesome. I do like the blue though... Everyone else says they see alot of them. Personally I see far more Silver WRXs driving around.

ya i know what you mean, i live here in Connecticut and all I see is silver, i hardly see blue, and once in a while i see black, but like i said its all almost silver, and everyone else that owns a car is either silver, or some darker color, all blend in together, but the WR Blue Pearl sticks out to be noticed, but to the point like a yellow or red corvette would, good luck with whatever you choose, its an awsome car, and i highly suguest get the 17in OZ or BBS rims available and the Short throw shifter, they are great even for regular street driving

Rock,
I would agree with Truck14, go with Blue. A friend of mine has an 03 Black wagon, and it really picks up the scratches and dirt in the paint. As you probably already know, Subaru has crappy paint, so the lighter the color, the better.....The Blue will look nicer in the long run if you take good care of it. I also agree that the WR Blue really stands out in the crowd.....It is the best color!(I am biased) It will turn heads....Good luck, and sounds like you will get a great deal on the car. You will love it.

Yep... I think I am sold on the blue. I ruled out all of the other colors for various reasons. I would like to get the rims but I think I will wait and do something aftermarket. I saw a 1997 legacy with a blown motor and factory 17" BBS wheels for sale for $450. I was going to buy it for the wheels alone and put them on the WRX when I got it. I posted a different thread on the topic and Dexter from the tire rack thought that they would probably fit... I just don't need a 97 legacy with a blown motor. :-)
