Can Anybody tell me what are some good choices on new tires for my WRX. I think I need to get 4 new ones. I want to get somethign that is not too expensive. I am only going to use them for the winter months. I have 17" rims and tires that I use during the spring/fall and summer.

Any ideas?

Go for the RE950s. They last quite a long time and seem to best bang for the buck.

I'm pretty happy with my Dunlop SP5000s. I'm running stock size...98 bux from Tire Rack.

Semperit Sport Grip...I love these tires. Cheap, work well in the dry, and are incredible in the snow. $64 stock size too :D

RE950's SUCK in the snow, wish everyone would quit recommending them, I've seen so many post on how they suck, they are a high performance all season tire.

Dunlop Winter Sport M2 or Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 but the M2's are cheaper.

You can try the SP Sport A2s. I know quite a few SVX owners on the east coast that use this tire and say that it will last them through the winter season.

How much does it cost to get a single tire mounted and balanced on a rim?

I have a set of OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE92 (WRX - OE) tires with less than 100 miles on them. I replaced them with dedicated winter and summer tires immediately after buying my WRX in Jan 2002.

I can sell them to you for $50 a piece (shipped). As a comparison, these tire go for at least $81 (+shipping) at tirerack. The SP5000s go for at least $98 (+shipping). If youre the untrusting type, I can also do the deal through escrow ;)

100 Miles on them???

That is hard to trust. But I am in need of three new tires to match with the one new one that I purchased.

I have 205/55/16 VR rated.

What is it that you have for sale?

I am worried about this deal cause my major concearn is about the difference from one tire to the next when it comes to tread wear and diameter of one tire to the next.

My tires are the original tires that came with the WRX, so they are 205/55-16.

I could take pictures of the thread and send those to you via email. Also, we can do a deal through an Escrow agency. That way if I try to rip you off, ;) I will lose whatever money I put into shipping. I THINK that might discourage me from ripping you off :)

No but really, the tires are as good as new and you'll be hard pressed to see the difference. Tell me where to email you the pictures if you are still interested.

Can you measure the tread depth for me and include that in your e-mail.
