This is just a preliminary post.....I will post up more details in a day or two. But here's the scoop.

My sister-in-law is putting together a "Get Together BBQ" at BDG in SJ on Sat. Oct 18th from 9am - 3pm. There will be plenty of good food/drinks for everyone, and possibly a DJ.

Its a canned food drive, so bring all your canned cream corn and anything else that you dig outta your cupboards and dont want.

There will be Raffles, 50/50 awards (I think thats cash money), and many other awards as well. All the money generated from the raffles will be donated to a teen/youth foundation (Teen Challenge).

This is an open show, they are expecting between 200-300 cars/trucks of all types, makes and models, and I was asked if I would invite all my "Subaru Buddies." I would like to see atleast as many cars come as we have at UCKK tuesdays.

I would recommend getting there around 8am that way we will all be able to park together and represent the Subaru Enthusiast community. I am going to post up an image of the actual flier of the event in a day or 2.

Very true, but I also know that there will be a truck club that is gonna be representin too. So we should have a pretty good variety of attendants.

Hell, the number of moving and smog violations on my Impala FAR outnumbers the amount on the WRX :)

That said, Cops-n-Rodders is a pretty cool show at the CHP Academy. Hundreds of hot rods and classic cars, plus the CHP driving instructors put on this wicked driving demonstration on their nearby test track. Think multiple cars in line, going thru turns at 80-100+ MPH, merely inches (yes, inches....not feet) apart!

Yep, "100 Octane Heaven" on the corner of Almaden and Foxworthy. It would be great to roll in there with 20 cars or so. Who is in?

UPDATE:

I just talked to my sister in law (shirley) and she said, that it looks like they are expecting WAAAAY more cars than they originally expected.....they passed out 300 fliers originally, and lotsa people took those fliers, made copies, and are passing the copies out at other carshows\ get togethers all over the place... I would expect in excess of 300+ cars....she said that if we get to BDG by 8am....we should get good parking, and we will all be able to be together!

So here's the plan:

Ben suggested that we meet up at the "high octane" 76 station @ Almaden Expressway and Foxworthy, right down the street from BDG at 7:30 AM. Wait until 8 AM for everyone to get there, then at 8 all caravan together right down the street to BDG and all roll in together in style!

Anyone coming from other areas around the bay area and beyond, are welcome to get your own caravans together, and if you like, meet up with us at the gas station (Be there no later than 8AM) that would be great! Otherwise, you all can just meet us at BDG.

This is gonna be a totally awesome event, great for the entire family, good food, prizes, raffles, phat a$$ cars/trucks...so come out and represent BAIC! I am really looking forward to this event and seeing everyone out there in force! Please keep in mind, this IS a canned food drive, so BRING ATLEAST ONE CANNED FOOD ITEM PER PERSON.

P.S. I was asked to see if any of our vendors would like to donate prizes (generic prizes for any car/truck, ex. Wax, gift certificates, things that anyone can use, subi owner or not) for the raffles, Please note, that any donations WILL BE TAX DEDUCTABLE....I have the appropriate paperwork. Please PM me if you are a vendor and are interested in donating something.

Just to echo Ted's message. I would love to see 30-40 Subaru's all roll in together. Mods, no-mods, whatever, just wash your ride and roll out for a great day with your fellow BAIC crew. There is going to be a great mix of cars and people so it should be a pretty unique experience. It would be helpful to get a quick count of who is going to meet us at 7:30 so that we don't leave anyone behind. I will be bringing a canopy, chairs, coolers w/water, soda, etc. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Heeeeeeeelooooooo everyone! Well I am back from Vegas...it was a great trip! I missed everyone! I need to get my weekly fix of my suby friends! LOL



Well, everyone, THIS WEEKEND is the big day! so get your cars all pretty, clean, and polished up nice! We are gonna have an awesome time. I was informed yesterday that we MAY not be able to park all together, because there are only 70 parking spaces (aparently) that we get to use, and they are expecting around 200+ cars possibly. Therefore, if we wanna all park together, I STRONGLY SUGGEST getting there promptly and Early....7:30am would be a good time to roll into BDG...I tried to pull some strings with the parking situation, my good friend is incharge of parking everyone , and I told him to try his best to keep us all together, but no guarantee.

Anywho, I am looking forward to this event, it should be a great time for everyone!

Judging from the responses in this thread it looks like we are only gonna have about 10 ppl show up, which is fine...but just remember, the more the merrier....Also, you/your car cant win any prizes or awards if you are not at the event, So bring 'em shiney and sparklin'!

To those ppl that are coming for sure....are we still meeting up at the Almaden Expwy/Foxworthy 76 station at 7-7:15am and caravanning down to BDG? If anyone is still interested in doing this....I will be there at 7am sharp and will be waiting around until 7:30...then at 7:35 I will be heading over to BDG. I hope to see you all this weekend, its gonna be a blast!

UPDATE!

Last night as I was pulling into BDG I was on the phone with my Sister-in-law...she says that there were 600+ fliers passed out (all the way up to Sacramento, and down to Bakersfield), they had a 1 minute "commercial" on one of the local radio stations, and she was contacting a local news channel....So I would expect that its gonna be PACKED there. She also mentioned that there are people going in with her when she gets to Big Dogs at 6:30AM! So the earlier we all get there, the better chance we will have of getting to all park together.

I also talked with the owner of BDG and she said that if we wanna save A FEW spots, that would be ok....I will do my best to save a few spots, but for the majority of us, We all should get to BDG by 7:45AM at the absolute latest....therefore, I will be at the Almaden/Foxworthy 76 station from 7-720, and planning on leaving to go to BDG by 7:25-7:30, depending on how many ppl are at the gas station, I MAY not leave until 7:30 to head over.

To anyone that meets at the gas station, As Ben had mentioned b4, I too will pick up half of the coffee tab for y'all, for gettin' up so early on a Sat.

I can wait, I am uber excited about this, its gonna be a great time! Gotta spend the night washing, waxing, and detailing tonight! See ya all there, bright and early!

Damn, this is going to be such a great event. Everyone get there as early as possible so that we can all park together. I plan to be at the 76 station at 7:00.

In case you guys are looking for some coverage for your car here is your chance. The guys from carandmodel.com will be at the event at 4:00 to shoot my car for a feature. I have already asked them to shoot a group shot of the entire BAIC crew to include in the article. Can't guarantee anything, but they are definitely rolling out to the event. Could be really cool.

The official event times are from 9am-3pm, however, if you needed to leave a bit early, that would be ok...I am sure we could make the appropriate arrangements to get you outta there, or just try and park near the end of a row. The ONLY WAY I can gurantee that we will ALL get to park together, is if we all roll into BDG together tomorrow morning....we MAY be able to save a couple of spots....but thats it...just a couple.

But yea, Tommy, if you needed to leave early, I dont see that being a problem....except you'll miss out on the raffles if you bounce out too early.
