The second annual "2 Wheels 4 Paws-Motorcycle Poker Ride" to benefit the Oakland Animal Shelter will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2003.

For an entry fee of $15, motorcyclists will collect a total of five playing cards along route through the East Bay and surrounding cities. The participant with the best poker hand at the end of the ride will win a grand prize.

Riders will leave from Pineapple Honda/Kawasaki (4500 International Boulevard) between 8:30am and 10:00am and will arrive at the Oakland Animal Shelter (1101 29th Ave) between 12:30pm and 2:00pm where they will enjoy refreshments and a behind the scenes tour of the beautiful Oakland Animal Shelter built in 1999.

This event is open to the public and non-motorcyclists are welcome to join in the festivities at the finish line. The ride is sponsored by Pineapple Honda/Kawasaki of Oakland and all proceeds will be deposited into a special fund to be used to directly support programs at the Oakland Animal Shelter to rescue and care for Oakland's animals, including the humane education and volunteer programs.
