Can I use the stock lugnuts on my new Rota Tarmacs, or is the mating surface a different shape?

no, i think the surface area is different. you will need lugs like kyogens (sp?) or spline lugs.

I used Black McGard Splinedrives on my SDR's 65554-BK.

65554 for the Chrome ones.

Stockers work..but you really shouldn't use them
I used the stock lugnuts for a few days until I got the correct lugnuts, and nothing went wrong with the tarmacs

Specifically it is the angle of the seats are deeper or should i say a different bevel? Either way there could be some slight damage to the aluminum if you use the stock lugs.

I use Kyokugens on my Rotas which have the correct (60 degree) seat angle. I had been informed the stock lugs could be used but did not match the seat as well so I never tried them. Plus they just wouldn't look right on steel grey wheels.

Some Rotas can use stock lugs. When I had Tarmacs on my car, I used the stock lugnuts with no problems.

I have the black McGard Spline Drive lugnuts on my Tarmacs. Work great.

I will probably get black splined lugnuts then....where's the best place to get them for a decent price?

yah, check the angle. some wheels are okay with the stock
lugs and locks.

I got my splinedrives at Summit Racing. Came rather quick.

subydude has chrome splinedrives for a really good price, but not black chrome.
