Hey guys,

Huge meet at Vishnu on Sept 28th (Sunday). The stage 3 WRX is just about finalized, and shall be finished for the event. How does 380WHP sound? Sounds damn good to me. That's with a stock intercooler too! :D

Anyway, Shiv and the gang will be providing food and drinks, as well as the entertainment (Dynoing and comparing the various stages, and they will answer any questions you might have).

I'll find out times and post them. Most likely it will be around noon.

I'll def be there, and so wil Imprezer.

I sold it because I decided I wanted to save money for a year or so. Oh well. ;) I was talking to them (Vishnu) earlier today and I'm supposed to setup a time in the next few weeks to do some dyno testing with the xede, etc. We'll see. :)

There's room for 'spillover' parking in the adjacent lots, as well as parking on the street. Shouldn't be a problem. The other businesses are closed on Sundays.

It's going just swell.

Unofficial results:

Teh Tommah's Ride: A very impressive 250 whp, on about 94 octane (2 gallons Cool Blue to half a tank of 91).

Devin's White WRX, same setup as Tommy, but on 91 octane:231 whp

Stock Z06: 305 whp (it only has 2000 miles on it- still some break-in to go.)

Stock JDM S15 Silvia, blacktop SR20DET: 180 ft./lbs. and 180 whp... on 91

Dan Avon's WRX with TXS stage II (sort of):195 whp, some knock, Shiv tuned that out for free

Aaron's JDM V7 STi drivetrain: 257 whp, with lots and lots of torque, all the way up to the redline of 8000. That's at 1 bar- we'll see what he does in a few minutes at full boost. :D

'04 STi with SOA factory reflash: 217 whp, no knock

Ummm... that's all I remember for now. The rest will make it to the boards by tonight, I'm sure. ;)

Totally worth the drive down there, big thanks to Shiv for hooking it up with the free dyno and test drive http://forums.i-club.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif Everyone there was really cool, spectators and employees alike. Thanks again!

brucelee
09-28-2003, 07:06 PM
SOA reflashed STi didn't make any less power than the stock one with the original map. (And AFAIK, it dyno'd at 228)

Wingless Wonder
09-28-2003, 08:05 PM
It was a good day. Great people, great cars (WRXs, STis, Evos, SRT-4s, and a Silvia), great weather, and free eats and drinks! How can you beat that? And it's always nice to see 'old' friends at events like this.

I had to bail earlier than expected because I was nodding out . I just woke up when Kevin broke the news to me about how much power the Silvia laid down, hence the blank expression on my face. 180 horsepower? What's horsepower? :o

Thanks to Shiv, Brett, Ken, Kevin, Dan, and Josh, for putting on a great show and for their hospitality.

Looking forward to the next one.

P.S. - I'm glad I brought my chair. :)

Actully, it was closer to a repeatable 220whp. Very nice reflash. No ping on the road or on the dyno despite my best efforts ;) Certainly a worthwhile upgrade for anyone experiencing knock (and even those who aren't, IMH). No discernible power loss judging by how it compared to the other pinging STis we tested. Of course, a more conclusive test would be to do a before and after on the same car, same day, but that's not feasible unfortunately.

Cheers,
Shiv

PS. The Stage 3 car put down 298 wheel hp before the stock BOV started leaking. The next run, the silly EGT proble popped out ;) But I did give a hot lap to someone afterwards and I think he liked it ;)

Had a good time talking to everyone and so did my friend (one talking to dan e, brett, and ken about ae86's) I sent you guys an email and will probably call you later this week asking about the xede, i am seriously thinking of selling the utec and going that route.

That was cool, this dyno day was the first one I've been to and it was totally worth it. Even though Vishnu doesn't really offer anything for my car I still think Shiv and everyone have a good handle on what they're doing. I was glad my car eventually made it on the dyno, even though it only produced a pitiful 93.3whp.....lol. Well thats what you get when all you have is a CAI/Pulley on a stock EJ25 w/ auto tranny.....ohh well. To the Vishnu staff: thanks for arranging such a good meet, I'll definetly be looking forward to the next one :-)

Last time I checked I made 253, and you did not drive my car nor were you by the dyno when the charts were made, so not sure how you know it's "laggy". Or were you just playing messenger again?
