Turbo kits for 1.8(?) motor? Other random questions as well.
I haven't yet purchased an impreza, but want to know where to get a turbo kit directly from a supplier. Is there any stock turbo "kits" that will fit these cars with some modification? Are the rods and crank forged or cast? If cast, what is about my power limit from the motor? Are the AWD transmissions fairy tough to hold the extra torque of a turbo? Are S-AFCs compatable with these ECUs?

You could probably get a one-off kit from Ludespeed or SPO motorsports. The EJ18 is pretty similar to the EJ25. I would only be guessing about power outputs, but I can tell you that you have all cast internals for sure. No need for forgies on a 110 bhp motor.
It would take a lot of boost on your motor though to have to worry abouyt the transmission. I would be more concernced about it's age actually. You don't want to use piggyback ECMs for a turbo though- it's far safer and more productive to use real management.

All of these questions weren't turbo related, just wondering if the S-AFCs were compatable in general. I don't have an impreza at the moment, that's why i asked so many questions. I'm very interested in these cars and want to learn as much as i can before i buy one. Thanks for your input http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...ec_subaru.html I found this kit, it looks to be a good deal, i doubt they make this kits theirselves, so who is the supplier? Again, thanks.

Compatible is a very black and white term. (4givbe me if I misspell words, I'm a little drunk right nbw) It is compatible in the sence that it won't blow iup your engine, but is absolutely useless because yor #ECU will ignore the S-AFC in a few weeks, and adjust it how it sees fit. Don't waste your money. A RRFRP (Rising Rate Fuel Pressuere Regulator) will be able to handle up to 8 pounds of boost, after which you'll need a real engine management sysytem. Hope this helped. CHEERS, and pray for me ito be able to get up for work in the manana.

Okay, thank for your help as well, i know some car's ECUs run on a different voltage than the S-AFCs send out. Can i use the factory fuel system with the regulator if i keep it under 8psi? I probably sound like an idiot, but i've only delt with N/A tuning and this will be my first piston engine

have you thought about going a different way like a tranns plant. Since you haven't bought an impreza just yet.
It might be better to go with a older impreza or legacy and swap the N/A engine out and put a ej20(turbo) engine in.
