Exhaust & Unichip ???
Howdy All,
Well I just finished installing my uppipe, it was a little bit of a PIA due to the fact that I didn't have a jack to get the engine up, but with some maneuvering I got the beast out. Anyway, the car currently has the up-pipe, 3/16th mod, TXS RFL Bov, no resonator, non-bellmouth (HKS) downpipe, stock midpipe (with cat) and then a straight pipe from the mid-pipe back (no muffler). Very interesting sound. Point being..
I have intercooler hoses and a stage 1 txs unichip w/ abc layin around.. Should I install these as well or will it be detrimental to the vehicle (a local tuning shop has told me not to do it due to the fact that I have an Up-Pipe and basically a catless exhaust and that I will actualyl hurt the performance I have.
Any ideas? Or should I just throw it in for ****s and giggles and see what goes on (other than the damned misfire cels, as usual -- darn unichips).
Thanks Much,
G

Don't use a chip with a map for different mods than what you have now. If it's written for a car with just an axle-back, or even a turboback, you could lean it out too much. The hoses will still help though.

Can't I just get it reflashed to stage 2? Don't I have more of a stage 2 setup, or should I just can the whole idea install the I/C hoses and then get the chip reflashed at a local dyno, or pitch the whole idea, bust my *** and buy an ecutek.
Thanks Much,
