anybody have info on what to get for this and how to best set it up? i've looked at a few gauges. Autometer is way too much $ and i don't like the look. Greddy has one in my range but not sure that includes the temp sender/probe and its only in deg Celcius.

What i need to now is a rough idea of what peaks intake temps can hit post-intercooler (prob tap between IC and TB).

thanks in advance!

I would assume that you want to set soemthing up and will be looking at it often for a week or so till you get it sorted out.. If thats the case then get an OBDII scan tool and you can watch/measure IATs

Peaty, is the IAT sensor located upstream or downstream of the IC?

That's a good question, I'll have to check around.

from what i understand, IAT is in the airbox (more or less) and i'm looking for post-intercooler temps so the IAT is out.

I think you are right I'm pretty sure this is the IAT

IAT is in the airbox or essentially ambient temp depending on if you have removed the snorkus, installed a CAI or left it stock. Do you have the intake stock setup?

The 240° shown above is after the turbo charger has gotten ahold of the air. Just by taking air and compressing it you'll raise the temp. Throw in the fact you are routing it through a super hot spot and it gets pretty warm, say around 248-266°F :)
