sweet looking wheels........the only problem is no $$$$ right now.... i have to sell one of my other rides before my g/f will allow me to get some "new shoes", and even then i will probably be stuck with shopping with tirerack or tires.com since they offer credit........ it so sucks to be middle class, but im sure ill appreciate them more once i do get them.

I am interested in the Model 225 Hyper-REV. 17x7 white do you offer any wheel and tire sets? Also do these require new lugnuts or can I use the stock ones?

Flash N Dash
08-13-2003, 10:17 PM
tbradshaw - Those are nice!! The only style that you need tuner lugnuts for is the Titanium Silver color....so with the White you will be able to use the stock ones. Right now I am not offering any tires/wheels combo....tire rack pretty much owns that area and I can not compete with that giant....yet! ;) So just the wheels for now to get started!! I will have the weights for you tomorrow...I have my guy working on all the info!!

xraddoc - K just heard from my guy at ALT Wheels and he said the only thing that we have to watch for is clearence of the Brembo brakes that the STi comes with.

The one that he recommended is the Type 267 if you wanted to go with the 17in rims!! :)

Let me know which style you are interested in if not this style and I will check with them to make sure that they will fit proberly!!

Thanks for the information,

Most people don't realize how expensive it is to ship wheels like this. And since ALT doesn't drop ship these wheels it costs me to get them shipped to me and then ship them to you. That adds up to about $140 in shipping charges alone that I will save you on this!!

AND FOR AN ADDED BONUS!!!! for the next 5 people that buys a set of ANY wheels style or size I will take off an extra $60 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

That is a huge savings!!!

OK we need a little help!! We are a little concerned with the AT279 having an offset of 35mm. So anyone that is local to ATL Wheels needs to contact John for a chance to bring your WRX to their shop so we can test fit these wheels and make sure that they will work on the WRX.

If you are interested then please contact JOHN at ALT Wheels and tell him that you have a WRX and you are local and you want to help test fit the AT279s.

ALT WHEELS INFO:
705 Challenter Street, Brea, CA 92821
Telephone: (714) 255-9099

And we will work out some kind of deal for you!! ;)

Please let me know if you can help or if you decide to contact ALT so I know how much more to persue aid!!

Thanks,
Brian

The 35mm statement you made at the beginning on the thread caught my attention at first but didn't say anything about it. I'm originally a VW owner and let me tell you...we stretched the limits of offsets. At one point I had wheels that were 8mm offset and it still looked fine. But that's basically the "euro" look. On Subaru's however is different. From what I researched, aside from the visual part of the wheels possibly sticking out...there's the issue of wheel bearings on Subaru's. Research based on both Nasioc and I-club states that the wheel bearings tend to suffer from lower offsets. Its something I never experienced before with VW's nor is it something that's been experienced by a gazillion lower offset VW owners I know. But the bearing setup could be completely different. Although, when I read through the numerous threads that were created regarding wheel bearings suffering, I did not read a single first hand experience testimony. Basically a lot of people yapping on a theory and blindly believing something they've never experienced. I could be wrong...but I think more factual evidence is definitely needed.

Flash N Dash
12-10-2003, 05:30 PM
MFactor - I am with you on that I have only heard in "theory" about the bearings....and I am not sure if they are different then the VW all together. I was told be the wheel gods that anything from a 35mm to a 48mm offset would work for the WRX with the ideal sizes being 40 + but I didn't want to offer a wheel to someone for a car without double checking it.

If you would be willing to test fit these wheels then I would be willing to work out a good deal for you on them and if they don't work then you can sell them to a VW owner and still make a profit on them. Cuz I know that they will fit the VWs and other Euro cars like that for sure. This would be a small risk for you to take.

If you are interested in a great deal on these and to help test fit them on your WRX then PM me and I will work something out with you!! ;)

Thanks for your imput and help!!

So I went and did the test fit today. The 17z looked way too small. We put one and decided not to put any on becuase it looked out of place. Put the 18z on and man did they look clean. Really nice, they will be putting pix of them on my car on the website.

Now, even with the offset, it did clear. HOWEVER, my car is at stock height right now, but it does appear that it will sustain a .8-1.25 front drop and up to a .75-.8 drop for the rear without rubbing. Front sticks out about .2 of an inch from the fender, but with drop will go in a bit and is not bad at all.

Look for pictures @ www.altwheels.com

Im glad I could help, I might get a set of the ones that I tried out, but Im working with ALT about that. After more working and trying it out, the wheels will sustain more of a drop if you use coilovers. They are farther out so are actually a little better then the +45 offset 18x8 that I have on right now. The only thing is that it might look a little weird to some that the wheel and tire is out of the fender (technically illegal). But, easy fix....WIDEBODY fenders!! So yeah, they look nice, and I cant wait to see pix, it'll be nice knowing that the car Im looking at is my very own.

Flash N Dash
01-11-2004, 06:35 PM
Nodnero - Yeah that sounds good!! :) What we can do on the pricing if you decide to get a set is go through me and then I will arrange it to where you can still go and pick them up from ALT locally but you wouldn't have to pay taxes by getting them through me. Just a way to save you some $$$$ :) Let me know what you think about this.

Nodnero
01-12-2004, 08:15 PM
Yeah i know, with those rims it seriously needs a drop!!!! But the 18x8 Axis Spyders with Toyo Proxes and HKS CF-Ti Catback have taken a nice chunk out of my wallet. This is only a month old car (1 month as of 1/13/04) so you better believe a drop is next in line.

Flash N Dash
01-12-2004, 10:29 PM
MFactor - I am working on getting more pics also. .2 of an inch is what they stick out and they said that if you look down from the top of the fender you don't see the wheels at all, but if you look from the front of the car towards the back you see them stick out the .2 of an inch so it is hardly worth worrying about.

Nodnero - Yeah that is pretty new... :) And I can see where all that stuff would put a dent in your wallet. Hey when you need any other parts for your car besides wheels then please hit me up and I would be glad to help you!! :) Also, when I talked to ALT they said that you also took pics with your camera too....do you have any of those pics available or ready???

I really like the AT-228s (Fusions)... too bad they don't come in bronze; silver is cool though. I'd buy them if: A) I had a the money, and B) I had a car [WRX] to put them on.

Because I'm retarted when it comes to just about anything automotive: is there any place here (Maryland) I could go to get these "fitted" or something so I can make sure I like them before I buy. [When I'm able to buy them that is.]

Oh and I am not sure if there is a dealer in Maryland that you could see what they look like. Even so you couldn't test fit them because then if you didn't want them then they could not be resold. It is an ALT policy that they only want to give their customers the very best quality wheel. SO no test fit wheels can be re-sold.

Hope this answers your questions! I know that you will like them!! Don't worry! :)

I'm really like the AT279 but the pictures of it installed on the red WRX is hurting pretty bad. It needs to be dropped...and you need better quality pictures. Pictures of what it looks like from above the fender to see how far they stick out would be very useful too. You guys set up a test fitting...might as well have taken advantage of the situation and used a better camera than a phone camera. Something along the lines of this kind of side shot would be very useful. Wheel season is right around the corner for me and I really want to see what these wheels will look like.

http://www.hostdub.com/albums/Mrkjsn_album02/axis3.jpg

Something along these lines would also provide a better idea of how much they stick out.

MFactor - Yeah I set up the shoot with ALT but I wasn't there myself or I would have gotten some different angled pics. And the pics that are up are from a digital camera....Chase (owner of the Red WRX) had taken some pics with a camera phone but he hasn't posted any yet. And I know that the WRX would have shown a lot better with it being lowered but that was just a test fit for a stock WRX to make sure that we would have the clearance and that there would be no rubbing....it wasn't really for a photo shoot. I just wanted to know that they would work. But I know that you could get them and then take some premo pics for me!! ;)

Well After a long couple of days thinking to myself "man do I really want to get Gold Wheels" My conclusion "NO" They are about the only color of wheels which I have never had, and for now its going to stay that way. Good thing for you though, the AT279 caught my eye and its really starting to grow on me. The only thing is since they come in 19's .. 19's are what I want, will a 19" x 8" wheel really fit.

Flash N Dash
02-10-2004, 04:47 PM
wrx21 - LOL...ok. Well the AT279s don't come in 19s, they come in 18s. Maybe it was a typo on your part but I just wanted to clear this up. The only thing larger would be the 20s that the AT296 comes in.

But 18s in the AT279s will look good and fit well for sure! That is why we had them test fitted on the WRX to make sure.

And if you liked the style of the AT225 then you could always get the White, Silver, or Titanium Silver that they have an option for...

Let me know what you think and I will try and help you narrow the field down to a wheel that you will be happy with!

thrower1283 - What up BJ! :) How you been doing girl?? I haven't talked to you lately...I returned your call but haven't heard back from you. I hope you had a good holiday weekend!

As far as size goes I would go with the 18" and use 225/40/18 Nitto NT555 tires. Those would handle great and be wicked sweet looking...and the wheel would look half bad either...lol. ;)

Let me know when you are ready for them cuz your car needs to dress up and look pretty with some new shoes! :)

DEAL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy do I have a heck of a deal for someone this month!! If you are interested in the AT228 Fusion in 19x8 Titanium Silver....then this is the deal of the century!

Retails for over $1408...my normal great price is $1255 shipped...

NOW YOU CAN GET THEM FOR $899 SHIPPED!!!!

This is for one set of 4 only! There is nothing wrong with them...they were used in a test fitting and we can not sell them at retail so we pass the savings onto you!!

Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime deal! If you need to see a pic look to the first page of this thread! They are also the ones on the Mistsubishi Eclipse!

Let me know if you have any questions but don't wait to long! These things are going to fly!

CONTINUED DEAL TIME FOR THE 19" AT228!!!

Hey I got great news for everyone that missed out on the deal for these wheels above that were test fit! ALT came across a batch of 20 wheels or 5 sets in the 5x100 bolt pattern that had a little minor inperfection and they are going to let us have them for the same price!!

That's right!! You can get a set of 19" Titanium Silver AT228 for $899 shipped!!

I will post some pics of the actual wheels so you can see that it is so small of a inperfection that you have to look really close to see it! One is little dimples in some of the finish and the other is a line in the lip of the rim that doesn't go all the way around. Other then that these wheels are still top quality!!

Let me know if you have any questions!! Once these 5 sets are gone then the deal is OVER!! HURRY TIME IS LIMITED!!!

Thanks,
Brian

stentorian - No I sure don't and I checked with ALT's site and they only show the same silver version also. Just think that the Titanium Silver is a little bit showy because it has a better sheen to it so you get more bling. :)

Let me know if I can get you a set sent out to you!

Thanks,
Brian

do your rims come with centering rings or do we have to by them seperate? if so what are they made out of?

Flash N Dash
03-07-2005, 11:59 PM
matt01_17 - Hey are you talking about the center cap for the wheels? IF so then yes they do come with one for each wheel. They are made out of a hard plastic material...not metal. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
