I want to show my appreciation to all of you for keeping this board clean and mature (with nearly NO moderation). That is why I decided to enable avatars.

However, avatars are only available to those who are the most active on the board and especially the tech forums. Post whoring doesn't count. ;)

So, have fun. At this point only YOUR OWN avatars will be available until I make some default ones, which I will make available to less active members.

Please play good. No warning will be given to those who go overboard with them and use something unacceptable. Those people will have their avatars disabled FOREVER.

I agree this board pretty much moderates itself, I hardly ever get reports...im only on at night, dont post much, been around the scooby scene for so long everything is kinda repetative at this point :p

how do you decide who's active enough to get to use their own? like just the mods or what? i just tried to set one up and obviously it did not work... there aren't any for us civilians yet?

Who is considered an "active" member...a certain post count / number of posts per day???

If you have more than 1500 posts, you may also specify your own custom avatar.

Man, its done deal for me! I've been a member since the end of July and I only have 18 posts. I guess the avatar is a "give yourself a pat on the back" award for having the time to post so much. Don't get me wrong, more power to you guys that have the time to post interesting information! :)

This ^^^^ is so right... I can't believe how some people could post so much stuff and still have a job,wife,gf cuz i know if i post that much (let's say over 1000 posts)that you would have to be online at least 3 hours at home and maybe sneak a few hours at work :D

aww man... What happened to my post count. I had 18, but now it dropped to 10. That 8 that was taken off were post that actually pertained to a valid subject. I'm not the smartest car person in the bay, so that 8 was hard to come by... :confused:

18 down to 10 thats not as bad as my 167 down to 44. but i agree with what they did. That is probibly the only way for them to control it for now.

We're not using post count anymore, to get an avatar you must get enough scooby snacks to buy one.
