I think the bandwith was more then covered under the vendor fee's.

That doesn't include the banner money or the cafe press money.

It seems like Nick was making profit. Why else would he dodge money questions when Alex asked? If Nick made capital outlays to buy server equipment, that's fine to recoup...but anything over that should have been discussed...not hidden.

Former i Club, now known as NASIOC needed $2,000 for 2 T1's or simply $1,000 per T1 for bills and a large sum for a server. There are no "bills".

Thats called FIXED COST. Maybe buy it once a year. But there are no club "bills" Nick has to pay.

Bills...Hmm, as a Network Analyst I would say a couple of servers, a router, possible a hub or switch, plus monitors, DSU/CSU, UPS and A/C to keep it all cool running 24 hours a day....bout $500-$800 per month in electricity.

2 T1's to a residence - 2K sounds average

Site software, misc tools, hardware - hard to say per month

New hardware as necessary - hard to say per month


So say 3K or more a month constant in "bills".
Money re-paid to whomever purchased equipment when the club had no money..and other money tucked away and saved for server upgrades or emergencies like equipment failures, etc.

What are there 40 or 50 vendors? @ what $100 ea = $5000
minus 3K in costs - $3700
That's $1300 in the bank for the future or used to pay off any previously purchased equipment.

What's the problem with the money? Coming from an IT background I don't see it. Is Nick living the high life, rolling a Benz...I doubt it...he drives a Subaru like the rest of us...

He provides hosting for his friends and family members. He's got more than just i-Club server running there. And you think that the vendors money should pay for that too? What about all the milk and cookies he eats when he "administers" the servers and all the vaccum cleaner bags he uses to clean the room the servers are in. Should he use NASIOC's money to pay for that as well?

just trying to help with those unfamiliar with the costs...although when paying a hosting company, you are paying for their cookies and vacuum cleaner bags! :D

and A/C is important to computer equipment...just ask your hosting company or ISP how mush they spend on A/C per month :eek:

I am paying 9.95 a month. I wouldn't come near the cookies they buy with that, LOL!
