I read that they are going to charge $750 for the initial flash, and $175 for updated/retune flashes.

I am curious at to if the initial included a dyno tune, or if that is $200 an hour extra?

Also, mods are no problem...according to Shiv.

Do you guys think they can bump up the rev limiter with that thing?

Give them a call or email.

From my understanding, if you following their mod upgrade path, you do not need to get your car on the dyno roller. They will have a map for your ecu.

Unless you have a unique mod setup, than it is best to get on the dyno roller to get the unique ecu map for that car. That way you get the most out of your mods.

My car is somewhat unique. I don't trust a non-tuned ECU (IE...out of the box you got in the mail).

My car still holds the stock ECU wheel HP record in North America...but I am going to get a reflash.

I would be willing to bet that they will charge you for a tuning session.

Pretty sure that price is for a re-flash without tuning.

Ya, I stopped in there today and talked to Shiv. 750 just for the liscense...and 200 for a dyno tune.

That equates to almost a grand...

Hmmm...to wait, or not to wait...for the Autronic that is...

hey bad, im curious to know what vishnu said about flashing the ecu for mods. for a specific set of mods do you need dyno tuning (say turbo,up,dp)? or will he have general flashes for people with certain mods?
thanks

I think they have general flashes for people with certain mods.
It was mentioned somewhere they will reflash your ECU with a one day turnaround so they must have some 'general' maps for the usual mods (don't believe it until you hear directly from Vishnu about this though). Otherwise they obvioulsy wouldn't be able to flash your ECU sent to them by mail.

Hi guys,

Yes, we do indeed have off-the-shelf maps for cars with certain modifications. Thanks to all those who have been coming in for custom mapping, we have good maps available for stock turbo'd WRX with a variety of exhaust configurations. Custom tuning will always pull out a few more ponies, of course. We're also currently developing maps for big turbo (VF30/34) and STi injector applications which should be ready to go by the end of the week.

Cheers,
shiv

Does this mean that if you back in for some more tuning you have to pay $200/hr PLUS the $175 reflash fee?

I.e., if I add an intercooler and need Vishnu to spend an hour tweaking my maps will it cost $200 or $375?
