Alfriedesq 11-20-2002, 08:40 PM Welcome fellow i-clubers !!!!!
I will continue to post on the only REAL i-club !
My car is running well in snow tire rally inpsired 4 x4 mode - BUT - I have some secret mods in the works getting ready for next year !
imprezence 11-20-2002, 08:46 PM Al~
Come on man..the new i-club doesn't allow secrets...you must tell us all of your planned mods. BTW how is the snow with all that power and the new suspension setup?

V6turboTA 11-20-2002, 08:52 PM Wecome Al,
Can we start fresh and get along here?
Im game if you are :)

Alfriedesq 11-20-2002, 09:09 PM V6 - we're all on the same team !
I am working on some ideas to make the car have much greater spool up down low and keep the same HP
So far I have done wonders with the stock exhuast manifolds - - the process involves extensive porting and polish with a dremel tool - - ceramic coating and then wrap and cover with the sheilds
The idea is to send as much heat and noise to the turbo as you can
Anyway - the car is still running every day and works 100% - - have not hit the snow yet but I cant wait
Lobster Man 11-20-2002, 09:26 PM Did you raise the car for the snow?
How 'bout a skid plate?
Angus 11-20-2002, 09:33 PM if V6 and AL can be friends....then count me in :D
chsbla 11-21-2002, 12:29 AM The only thing i have planned for this winter is alot of mud and snow built up in ma wheel wells!

Chris

stealth-wrx 11-22-2002, 12:48 AM just wanted to say hi
Concillian 11-22-2002, 01:20 AM Al, I have in my office a spare stock header, and in my room here at home a Dremel with more bits than any man should rightfully own.
Care to share any pointers on manifold porting besides simply opening up to match gaskets with a nice taper?
Anything special in your 'extensive porting' job?
Danimal 11-22-2002, 11:56 AM anyone extrude and hone the stock headers with jet hot? I'm thinking of doing this as well
NotoriousWRX 11-22-2002, 05:36 PM The material is really hard, so I don't see how Al did it with a Dremel. I had a friend port mine, and he told me that he went through a few heavy duty professional grade grinding bits. He did a great job and even opened and smoothed out the bends. At some point during the winter, I'll take them off and have them coated with JetHot 2000.
Darn it, Al. I was gonna register here using your nick and confuse people by posing as the anti-Alfriedesq. This would entail being nice to vendors, underestimating my horsepower quotes, etc. etc.
j/k :p
-Pace <-- Now forming odds on whether this place will be a little less noisy and significantly more friendly to the general populace than the forums now known as NABISCO.
Danimal 11-23-2002, 09:19 AM your crazy if you do it with a dremel, it'll take forever
Alfriedesq 11-24-2002, 02:29 PM You just use the sanding drums - it takes about 4 5 packs to do the job
All I do is grind it till its all mirror smooth and the ends match up good at the joints
