rear sway bar for FWD impreza...where can i find one?
hi. i have a 93 front wheel drive impreza and does not have a rear sway bar on it. (i believe none of the FWD imprezas come with a rear sway bar) i wanna overcome the FWD understeer characteristic during hard cornering. the most i can think of is to add a rear sway bar to the car in order to fight back the understeering. i have search some performce part stores and web sites but does not come across any. (most of them are for the AWD only) so...my questions are...where can i find one for my car? can the AWD's rear sway be swap possible to the FWD? what other suspension parts get for the FWD impreza besize shocks and springs? (i got a coilover setup on my car) any help will be appreciated.

I'm sorry i dont know where to get a bar for you, but here's a couple questions you should find the answers to.
does the rear suspension arm have attachment points or bolts that the endlinks can bolt into?
are there attachment points on the subframe of the car for the carriers of the antiswaybar?
if you lack either of these things, you will need to do some creative machining and/or welding to get a bar in there. sorry to make more work for you, but I'd hate for someone to sell you a bar and then you find out its gonna cost a bunch more to get it installed. some guys will try to take you, i've had it happen to me. can you get access to a 93 awd impreza and look to see if the attachment points it has look the same on yours? if so, see if you can find one at a scrapyard; i've found quite a few deals there over the years. even though its not a cusco, anything will probably be an improvement.
or you could (if you haven't already) search for an aftermarket bar for the awd 93impreza (given the attachment points are the same on yours, take a tape measure or something to see if the geometry is the same) then you'd be in for a really stiff one
hope i didn't discourage you too much, just trying to help a dude out, later Bennie O.
