2002 sti swap bugeye
Car is a 2002 wrx which i got in march of 2008 from a bank that repoed it from the owner. When they got it the owner was doing something to it and the radiator was missing, the timing belt hanging off, no front bumper on the car and just all around beat up. I talked to the original owner and he told me how he just replaced the the short block and it had all these top dollar parts on the car. I bought the car picked it up trailered to the shop and started looking at it. realized now that it had a knock off header, knock off intercooler, knock off just about everything. i put the tbelt back together tried to start it and no go. so did a compression test and all cylinders were low. Pulled the motor and began to dissasseble and found many issuse so i decided to scrap the motor and start over.
So i started with a EJ257 block and heads(sti) and purchased 100mm cp pistons, forged rods, acl bearings, crower cams and crower springs and retainers. The first shop i ordered the parts from went out of business and stole my money so it took a while for me to get my money back. (just got the last bit a month ago or so) and had to re order. I got the cylinders bored and honed and then began to build the motor. Motor is now built and installed along with a lot of other things including brembos, sti 6 speed and r180 diff. All work has been done by me with the help of Thad. We've built the whole car from top to bottom. The only thing i didnt do was tune and bore the motor

new parts ths week. thanks to kw for these. after having a mishap with the wrong rings and lots of detonation in 20 miles i was sent a replacement set of pistons and rings and hopefully will have the block sleeved in about 3 weeks. my front caster camber p;ates came saturday but i was gone and missed them. hopefully i can put the fronts together this week and get my spare 2.0 going soon so i can drive
