Octobers's Photography Assignments: "Walk Towards the Light" and "Frozen in Time"
Please be sure to read the rules before posting your contributions! Muchos gracias folks.
Theme #1: "Walk Towards the Light"
Get busy playing with some cool lighting! Lighting setups don't have to be expensive light rigs, you can play around with household lamps, dramatic natural light, or off camera flashes!
Good experimental lighting site: http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/
Theme #2: "Frozen in Time"
Pictures are great for freezing that special moment in time. A child's expression, or something that the fast pace of life causes you to overlook. Slow down for a moment and freeze time in your photograph. Inspired by Dusty's "Paused in Motion" series.
Rules:
Ending Date: October 31st
This isn't a competition, just a themed assignment for those who wish to participate. The only reason there is a due date is to keep the thread from going on and on. Feel free to PM me with options for other themes.
Constructive Criticism
The point of limiting criticism to Constructive Criticism to to keep people from just going "wow, your photo sucks" without offering a means for improvement. You could go "The composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." It would also nice and helps people receive CC better if you balance a negative with a positive such as "Well the lighting is nice, but the composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." or "I like the composition overall, but the busy background distracts me from the subject's face.'
