Wouldn't you want the paddles to be there on the wheel as you make turns? slow04wrx 04-01-2009, 06:23 PM whats the benefit of having paddles on the column instead of the wheel? Wouldn't you want the paddles to be there on the wheel as you make turns? have you ever fishtailed before? when they are on the wheel you can't tell whats upshift/whats downshift not to mention the buttons are constantly moving instead of stationary on the column. Steering wheel shifting buttons=crap, I can speak from experience. sammae01 04-01-2009, 06:51 PM have you ever fishtailed before? when they are on the wheel you can't tell whats upshift/whats downshift not to mention the buttons are constantly moving instead of stationary on the column. Steering wheel shifting buttons=crap, I can speak from experience. I'm not talking about buttons, I may have read or understood it wrong but he said the paddles are not on the steering wheels. not buttons, but paddles, and how he said it was mounted on the steering column made it seem like it was separate from the steering wheel and stationary. How boring would it be if we had to have the steering wheel straight before up or down shifting. And yes, I've fishtailed before, 'twas fun. kspek 04-01-2009, 07:07 PM the paddles on the column is much better as when i drive the M3 with smg and having the paddles on the steering wheel you can't tell which is upshift or downshift.
