Well I've been driving my STI for a little more than a month now and I finally got around to really washing those rims well and sealing them. And I'll agree with the rest of the STI guys....it was a b**** even with the rims off the car. Also, my next set of brake pads will have to produce a lighter dust....after only a week or so you'd think those rims came off a bimmer!

Alright, enough ranting......any fellow STI owners check their tire pressure since they've got their car (okay I've been slacking)? Just wondering since the recommended pressure is 36/30 front/rear but when I checked it I had 42/41 and I used two different gauges to confirm. WTF? I know some recommend a couple extra psi for city driving, etc but that seems a little excessive. Just wondering if all the STIs left the prep center that way.

Mine had 42/42. Seemed ok for Auto-x.

Oh by the way, my STi is back in the shop again. Seems that my rear sway bar bushing came loose again. Having them stick that sucka back in. Hopefully it will stay put, if not order a replacement bushing. Any other of you STi owners want to check your drivers rear sway bushing, and let me know if its coming loose?

I can see the extra psi being a benefit in autox by increasing responsiveness but I'm just curious why they come from the dealer with THAT much more pressure. It also makes a huge difference when it comes to ride quality...

I'll check my sway bar tomorrow morning...but I'm pretty sure everythings ok for now.

it is b/c the lot boys who prep it don't check and just fill. my girl friend's RAV came with 45/44 psi when it should of been somthing like 34/36. i heard that a lot of toyotas come over pressured.

What did you use to seal them? Havent done this yet, gotta check the pressure. Feels like Im riding on 50psi on all corners. Ugh...

I gotta ride in yours for more extended period. At the track the short drive didnt feel that much rougher, but Im sure it is.

Well....I wasn't complaining about the ride being TOO rough...just wondering what else isn't done to spec....I mean if they can't even get the tire pressure close, I really hope they kept they're hands off everything else! haha

I used Race Glaze on my rims. It's a synthetic polish/sealant in one. This is the first time I'm using it but I've heard that it works well on rims and last pretty long (we'll see about that). They sell it at Pacific Motoring Acc on Sand Island. It's the same place I buy my Zymol stuff from (just waxed the STI for the first time today...what a b****)

Mine were riding at around 41/42 all around. I dropped the rear to 35 and the front to 37 and will work from there. When I AutoX my wagon I generally run the S03s at 35 rear / 36 front.

44 all the way around here, nice... dropped to about 36ish all corners.
