Yesterday, GST Motorsports in Hayward, CA installed my VF52. I would have done it myself, but my autocross schedule is packed so I wouldn't have time to get to it for at least a month.

Installation took about three hours. I did a dyno run beforehand (on their Mustang dyno), netting 214 whp and 250 tq. Mods were SPT cat-back, Perrin TBE, Perrin CAI, and Perrin Stage 2 tune for California 91 octane CrapGas(tm).

Now, the car has the VF52 and Perrin TMIC and a Clark Turner tune. I'll be going back later this week for another dyno test. I'm giving the turbo time to break in and for the ECU to learn the new tune.

Impressions so far are, HOLY CRAP!!! This thing pulls HARD now. You could see on the dyno graph how torque dropped off dramatically above 4500 with the TD04. The VF52 spools a little later... maybe 3300 RPM compared to 2800, but comes on hard and just gets stronger as the RPMs climb.

I'm eager to get back up to GST for the next dyno session. I'm anticipating seeing whp figures in the 270 range. All my research on Mustang dynos indicates that they read 10-15% lower than a Dynojet, for those trying to compare.

I saw somewhere that with the TMIC, downpipe, exhaust, and tune you can reach 293whp 300lbs with the 09's aka VF52.

Once I get back to the dyno shop (maybe next week), I anticipate hitting around 280-285 whp on the Mustang dyno, which works out to around 310 whp on a Dynojet.

We'll see.

Dyno results in... long story short... they refuse to open the car's hood while on the dyno, so not enough air gets to the IC. As a result, I made a pathetic 265 whp and the ECM was pulling timing pretty bad according to my tuner. So he figures I was down about 20 whp as a result. So... I'm right where I figured I'd be... 285 whp on a Mustang Dyno, or about 315 on a Dynojet.

The car is running like a raped ape now too! :)

Who tuned your car again?

GST dynos the cars with the hood closed as one of the measures to best replicate normal driving conditions encountered on the road. That way the tune is more accurate and safe. I highly doubt you can drive down the highway with your hood open and a fan blowing directly into your intercooler ;) To me personally that phylosophy makes sense...you do not want to tune your car for one airflow condition, but use it in a totally different one. Just my $.02

That one is pretty obvious.

yes the mustang dyno is the most well simulated tuning availble (without road tuning) mike can vary the load placed on the enginge to simulate any type of condition I.E. climbing a hill. my forester in january put down 310/315 on that dyno and Ill be back on mondy for more tuning with mike cant wait....
