View Full Version : Wheels! Who has some aftermarket?
thaSicness 10-30-2008, 05:15 PM Just hit a nice fat pot hole and I got a sweet dent on the inside. Subaru quoted me at my store cost for 271.. now for 271 a wheel I rather get some nice aftermarket ones.
Anybody have any suggestions what would look good in pref. the same size 17x7.5? I want something affordable but not something super cheap.
1SIKBRU 10-31-2008, 08:27 PM I would suggest these
http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=26
and thats under the $271 per wheel
I like rota mainly because they don't look tacky and they are pretty light.
Other than that I'd go for some OZ Ultralagerras, but thats a lil more money
thaSicness 11-01-2008, 01:28 AM those look good, im just worried about quality with rotas. seen lots of nasty pictures of aftermath from small potholes. SSR hass some sweet wheels but theyre waaay too expensive
1SIKBRU 11-01-2008, 02:32 PM yeah some rotas have been bad, I had a set a few years ago and had one spoke crack in half from a not so big pot hole.
SSR's are ok, I've seen a few on locals and didn't like the looks of them as much as I had when looking at them online.

haha tha's funny coz i've personally seen some ugly aftermaths from the same things on BBS or 5 zigen wheels as well. i guess it's some other factor that's causing the problem not solely the brand of the rims eh?

Yea its really not the brand, at least every brand has one good looking wheel. I also want quality. Blah.. this is why I was wondering if anybody else has wheels so I could see what it looks like on their car first :D

1SIKBRU 11-01-2008, 08:26 PM those SSRs are pretty hot.
So I will probably have some new rims within a month so you'll have something to see.
Altho I'm thinkin rotas for myself

Awesome, im thinking i might go same route, im not rallying so I wont have to worry too much about the wheels breaking. Which rotas you thinking?
1SIKBRU 11-03-2008, 11:24 PM either the torque in hyper black 18 x 8.5, or the grid in gold 18 x 9.5
AspenTrWrx 11-03-2008, 11:45 PM Im pretty sure you're going to have to run camber and maybe roll your fenders with 18x9.5
1SIKBRU 11-04-2008, 12:26 AM nah, I have a ton of room spare, the 08 STI is set up to run stupid wide wheels/tires. Heard of ppl running a 295 with only slight rub, and I'm stickin with 245 for now
even if i do have a problem my coils have adjustable camber so no worries.
thaSicness 11-05-2008, 12:35 AM damn tirerack and their backorder...

try to drive little as possible till then..
