So lets see how a monthly themed photography Assignment works out on here!

August's Theme: Lines

Rules:

Photo has to be taken within the given month
Photo must be your own work
Please only submit ONE photo per assignment
If possible please post all the photo info such as lens, f/ stop, shutter speed, etc.
All photos are open to C&C unless otherwise noted by poster
No photoshopping/computer enhancement (except for frame/signature)

Due Date: August 31st

This isn't a competition, just a themed assignment for those who wish to participate. The only reason there is a due date is to keep the thread from going on and on. Feel free to PM me with options for other themes.

Lines...got it...I can do lines...*runs out to get her camera*

Edit: This image is completely unedited. My mother is a costumer, and this is a replica of a dress from the motion picture "Sleepy Hollow" that she made.
I used a Canon EOS 40D with lens EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6

No Photoshop? No problem.

I use Aperture 2.0 to do post-production.

I'm on it. I'm sure I'll find something in the next few days.

This are fun, just like on the Nikonians forums :)

I have the perfect photo in mind. As to cropping, I'm not a fan of it. Composition is done with a camera, not a keyboard or mouse. For this, I'll probably switch my camera to Raw+JPEG (instead of just Raw).

totally understand that but i only have an 18-55 lens lol =[

so... images have to be taken straight from camera, not cropping or anything of any kind?

just so there's more than one photo. How 'bout some broken lines? Pentax K10D, 18-55mm lens, don't remember much else. I know other people out there can beat this boring shot.

I have a picture in film, but I think scanning it may ruin the quality of the picture since it is mounted on some mat board.

Are you worried about scanning physically damaging the print or are you worried that it wont look as good on the computer? Since it isn't a contest it doesn't matter if it looks top notch. However, it still has to be taken within the month of the assignment.

I think I finally have one in mind, just need to find the time

Taken with a Canon EOS Elan II (50), with a Tamron 177D. AF28-80mm f/3.5-5.6

I've had this camera for about 8 years or so and the lens for about 3 years. It still does the job, but I am looking forward to an upgrade at some point in the near future. Thoughts, suggestions?
(FYI, I have a Powershot A630 that more than meets my digital camera needs. Sorry, no flames or debates please, just a personal preference! :p I am also not stuck on Canon, it just worked out that way so all suggestions are welcome)

Ah well this was somewhat of a flop. Maybe the topic didn't work well for most people? I'll keep doing the themes through the end of the year and see if participation picks up. Get ready for a new one tomorrow!
