For the HDR Fans

No cars in it, but there were taken today around 8pm on top of twin peaks. Taken with a Canon 1DMkII/Canon 16-35 f2.8L/processed with Photoshop and QtpfsGUI 1.9.2 with the Fattal algorithm

I have full 8Mpx versions if anyone wants them. Yeah, theres some dust/dirt on the sensor or the lens. Maybe we'll fix it later.

As far as I am concerned, HDR is, by definition, overworked and so I got what I was going for here.

But thanks for the input.

I tried, it did a terrible job with this set, even when I didn't let it do the layering and imported the exr from Photoshop. It doesn't have sufficient options to select in order to get the output I am looking for. qtpfsgui has a choice of a number of algorithms, and is free, even.

Dude, its just slighty messed up.

Why dont you try cranking the contrast up a tiny bit and lowering the brightness a bit...........

need some light smoothing up top for more realisitic.

HDR's are all what you liked in the picture, so if you want to make your sky crazy water like, I think thats cool. And I more like the fact you got such a cool view,

The internetz cool kids definition, sure

The real HDR, not even close.

Do some homework on dynamic range, here is a start:

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml

best quote from that write up: "like a gun or nuclear power, it can be a force for evil as well as good."

I'm sorry, but recently all the HDR I see on the internet looks like 1st year art students found that one holy grail filter and are working it to death.

i love the first pic. I never really understood HDR, but everyone is acting like youre trying to make it look real, but youre really trying to make it look how you want it to.

The sky is awesome.

Thanks for sharing.
