Where to buy tires?

Where's a good place to buy tires at a reasonable price? My co-workers use Costco, seems pretty simple, everything's online. The downside is that it might take 4 weeks for the tires to arrive, but I'm not in a rush. I'm just worried about some careless installer dinging my new (to me) rims - has anyone had experience, good or bad with Costco? Somewhere else I should look?

i have ordered tires from costco and can say that it's not that bad. i took my rims to eurosport once because they guaranteed that nothing would go wrong...and sure enough they dinged my rim. costco has the same equipment really and no problems there. the wait is a little long but it's not too bad and you really can't beat the prices, especially on KDWs. Ron's carries Falken at good prices. The guys there are pretty cool too and are used to aftermarket rims.

I think Vakamon carries Federal at good prices as well.

Honestly, I dont know how reliable Korean tires are though, since theyre fairly new on the market. I'm gonna stick to Nitto/Falken

I've ordered tires through Costco when they used to carry Bridgestone. Prices are pretty good, you also get free mounting and free balancing and rotation for the life of the tire. So definitely a good deal.

I bought my KDW's from Costco online & haven't had any problems so far when I take my car back in for rotation & rebalancing (it's free, why not take advantage!)

They always seem to have sales going on for Michelin or BFG tires.

They don't take appointments... which doesn't really matter to me.

The only thing that irked me was when they would always replace my black valve stem caps with these hideous green caps.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention... when I ordered my tires online w/ Costco I had a difficult time since the LGT comes with 215 45 17's (RE92). I couldn't order a non original size. So I tricked the system & said I had an STI so that I could order 225's. When Costco was mounting the tires & realized I didn't have an STI, they were cool about it. I showed them that the RE070's that were on the BBS wheels I had put on my car had no fitment problems & they didn't give me any hassles. Advantage Costco.

That's good to know as I'm running STi goldies on my WRX. With the STi trunk, though, I'm not sure the guys at Costco would catch it...
